It looks like I can catch the WXRT stream over the internet and record it. A little more tricky than RM concerts, but I'm pretty sure I can get it. I could then put it up on one of the FTP servers around here. Anyone interested?

John Prine said it was always special when he and Steve played and his guitar playing improved 10x. Even singing got better...Steve would break a string, do a rap, tune and change the string and continue with the song. John said he told Steve he did that on purpose, put a notch in the string before he played

Great times...not a whole lot of room for sadness. Steve was always trying to get people well prepared for when he might not be around

The bad news
Seems to have been a "technical difficulty" unbeknown to me during recording. The first 6 songs came out great. However, despite the log showing the entire show being recorded, only the first half hour actually was. Strange that it was cut off precisely between songs, leading me to think there was an issue with Shoutcast splitting being enabled on the recorder or something. Bummer.

Boy, I remember listening to that song as a kid-it's a real "antique"

Sorry I missed it, but I was at a pretty extraordinary springsteen concert centered around the second ever performance of the entire Born to Run album.
