Seriously though, I don't get flu shots. Every time I get one, I get the flu so I don't, so it would depend on how your immune system would react.

I always get my flu shot. My next door neighbor Dorothy DIED of the flu when she was in her 40's. She was even in the hospital, but her lungs filled with fluid and they couldn't save her.

I have never gotten sick from the shot.

Prolly not for me.
Just last week I briefly passed out five minutes after getting a totally painless steroid shot in the butt

Probably the fifth time in my life I've done this because of needles and I don't know why it happens although it has not happened every time.
If I do get one, I just need to accept that I got some kind of uncontrollable weird needle phobia and that they might as well lay me down because I'm going out

They say it's always the big guys

I've already gotten my flu shot.

I used to get the flu every year. I'd be sick as a dog (what does that mean anyhow?) for about three days and it would take another week or so before I felt good.

I started getting flu shots about 10 years ago and I haven't had the flu since. I'll get the H1N1 if I can (after the high risk population has been taken care of) and I'll continue to get the seasonal shot.

Huntsville TX ISD has closed all the schools to be cleaned. 900 students were absent with flu symptoms, so they decided to close all the schools until all were cleaned and hopefully giving students and teachers a chance to get over the flu.

No shot for me this year. I think the swine flu one needs more research before I will take it. I am not getting either. Some years I get the regular flu shot; some years I don't. I still get sick each year, so I can't tell the difference. Since I am a teacher, most of the time it is a virus I get. This yr I am gonna just take my chances on NO to both.

you should see some of the BIG BIKER guys with tons of tatts i have seen be BIG A$$ babies about getting a little blood drawn in the ER!!!

That's me. I just don't get it. I got three tats and never flinched but when I get a shot or give blood all bets are off

I was with Vickie today when she got her flu shot and I politely said "no thanks".... Big wimp that I am

It's absolutely impossible to get the flu from a flu shot. Ask any doctor. You won't find a legitimate one who says otherwise.

The flu shot, however, only protects you against a particular strain of the flu. The CDC guess each year which strain is the one we go after, and the shots are built around that. If a different strain shows up, you can still get the flu.

Actually you used to be able to get it from the shot back when they used live virus in the making of the vaccine. Now however they don't use live virus except in the nasal inhaler type vaccines.

The CDC also will usually choose two or three viruses to build their vaccines around and they are getting better at figuring out
which ones to use.
