Woah, I forgot about the HSB this year. My wife and I went last year to see Jerry Jeff and Robert Earl Keen. It was a great time, a colorful bunch of people shall we say (free concert in SF...). You can bring your own drinks. It was hard to get up close for some of the bigger shows as they were limiting the number of people for safety reasons, but with a little patience we were able to get to see everyone. I may have to take a trip out tomorrow.mason wrote:for those in the bay area, have you ever been to this event? it is happening friday thru sunday this weekend. todd snider will be playing on saturday i think. or sunday. also little feat and emmy lou harris,

Oh, and wear significant footwear for the show and maybe a change for afterwords. I remember the ground around the pot-o-johns being quite muddy. About as flip flop friendly as a cattle pen.

Re: hardly strictly blugrass
The Austin Lounge Lizards are great! Their song, "Jesus Loves Me But He Can't Stand You," kind of sums up where they're coming from. Sharp wit, funny lyrics, very satirical. Plus, they're great musicians and really nice people. I must admit I haven't been able to see them since they got the new fiddle and bass player. They haven't been to the Right Coast lately. But I'm sure they're as good as ever. I just love 'em. I know this gig has past but if you ever get a chance to see them, go. You won't be sorry.
Love in the library, quiet and cool.
