Does anyone here know anything about book publishing? For instance... What is the next step after the book is written and ready to be introduced? Or How do people publish themselves?
Please PM with answers.
Thanks~

Re: book publishing
feel free to post the answers here as well. I could use some guidance, seeing as how the final edit of the novel will be done this week.

Re: book publishing
For "self-publishing", I've used Lulu.com. I've done a few books there for family (my mother's book ..... http://www.grannyliz.net) and for friends. Someday soon (hopefully) I'll have a few of my book ideas ready to be published and I'll use them for some of my own.
A wee bit of a learning curve involved .... but they give you all the tools you need. You've got to convert your book to PDF format in ready-to-publish pages, right down from the blank pages to the copyright page to the table of contents to the chapters ... all pages must be PDF format and ready to publish. Page numbering, images, everything.
They have templates you can use and follow but I never used any of them, preferring to have full control myself over the entire content look and feel.
They also have templates for book covers, but again, I didn't use them preferring to design my own book covers, page flaps etc.
Lulu.com will assist with getting the ISDN numbers and also setting up a "book store" for you. They'll also help get the book out to places like Amazon.com for sale.
Plenty of options .... paperbacks, hardback, etc.
Books are only printed as they are ordered, so an order can be as little as one book or as many as a purchaser would like. The author can order books at a discount.
Book quality is excellent ....... indistinguishable from anything you'd buy off the shelf at Barnes and Noble.
Your self-published book can look as professionally done as if a big publishing house had done it, but ONLY IF YOU PUT THE CREATIVE EFFORT (and editing effort) into getting the book formatted and ready to publish.
Good luck.
