I love Guy's new CD. Sometimes I think all his stuff starts to sound the same, but there are some really wonderful lyrics and interesting sounding "things" on Some Days The Song Writes YOU. (percussion, female backing vocals, guitar that is really amazing--that Verlon Thompson is great.)
Guitar is a wonderful song. Verlon shines!! So is Eamon, which was written with Rodney Crowell. I still don't get this song, but it just reminds me so much of Steve Goodman's The Dutchman (or is that Michael Smith's?)
Listen to the whole album FOR FREE here:
(Terry, you'll love hearing If I Needed You)
Now, back to Lyle. I still haven't listened to his. Some Day I Will...
I am also loving this cd.
We saw Guy with Verlon from the front row last spring, Verlon is just amazing.
If you haven't heard it you should get a hold of his "Live at the Ivey's" cd
Here is a video that I shot

Thanks for sharing, HB ... Had a nice visit with Clark yesterday ... today's his birthday ... then talked to Darrell Scott for the first time. What a great guy and sooo talented.
Am talking to Justin Townes Earle today ...
It's been a good week.

Super photos, Larry! Thank you so much for always sharing your music ventures.
Terry, you are one lucky girl!
I love every bit of Natural Forces. I especially like Whooping Crane by Eric Taylor and was so happy to see the Tommy Elskes song, Bohemia, on the album. I can just picture Tommy playing his spoons after his unfortunate injury and having a good time.

Larry ... Thanks! Great seats, huh? I'm going to see him on the 24th ... can't wait. I love every cut on the new CD.
Nancy: I love Bohemia ... and Sun and Moon and Stars, too.

If you per chance get an interview with Lyle, I'll sure want you to MENTION "Choke My Chicken!"
That is about the silliest song I have EVER heard! I've got to say that I did NOT know Lyle had THAT KIND OF SENSE OF HUMOR...gotta love it.
I missed the Tonight Show and have not seen Lyle do this one.
