When I was in my mid - late teens (yes...many, many moons ago!) I worked summers in a cafetera across the street from the Liberty Bell in center city Philly. A block away was the TV station where the Mike Douglas show was filmed. When Soupy was going to be on the Mike Douglas show, the staff would order a bunch of pie shells. Then..they spilled their secret! They used shaving cream in the pies......we always knew when Soupy was going to be on...

Sail on Soupy.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

From WNEW TV (when it was good) "On The Set" interview with Soupy and two other great children TV hosts. Sandy Becker and Uncle Fred Scott. Mr Scott passed away last year.
Hosted by the great critic Stewart Klein.

OMG Sandy Becker!!! I remember seeing him in person when I was like 5 or 6 and I was too shy to go say anything. How about Sonny Fox and Wonderama?

I was from the Bob McAllister "Wonderama" time. I was 2 when Sonny Fox left the show. So, nothing in the memory banks on that.

My boss at Ch 5 was a page on "Wonderama". I'm not sure if he was from Sonny Fox's period. I haven't talked to my ex boss since the mid 90's. I wish I can go back and get the stories.
