I'm sitting here at home wishing I was in Key West with all my friends....this song is perfect for the way I feel.
But I'm still sad.
At least it's sunny and warm out today.

Not sappy at all. More than once that song has brought a lump to my throat.
Remember this, recently from bubblewatcher (Kathy from Mora, MN)?
bubblewatcher wrote:so total sappy story:: I've been a parrothead for quite a few years now. Two years ago, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Pretty much every day I drove 50 miles each way after work to see him and have supper with him. Just before he died, I was having a really bad time. My husband came home from work, and said "I bought a cheap watch from the crazy man today". Here he had made me a stopwatch that he had bought, took out all the guts, and on the on the inside it just said now and in the bottom side where the clock would have been it said "breathe in, breathe out, move on" i just started to cry. There was not much else I could do. So yeah, JB has been a very infuluential part of my life. Sometimes all it takes is a song, a southern accent and some good words to really make a person look at life a little differently. (My hubby is also from the south) This November we are going to Key West. I think I will not want to leave the land of us. kathy from Mora, Mn
There it comes again {{lump}}

It's one of his best songs ever. And I can't imagine ANYONE on this earth who the message does not apply to in one way or another. Some more than others, but it applies to everyone in some degree.
Over the course of our lives we all experience sadness, grief, and tragedy.
It's all part of the grand scheme of things.
Our options are to let the sadness and grief consume us and, thereby, taking us down the tubes as well, or, as Jimmy so elequently puts it, we can BREATHE IN, BREATHE OUT, AND MOVE ON.
Bottom line, we all need to understand how truly important some things AREN'T, and how strong each of us can be when we have to be.

I hope jimmy is reading this and plays it at the Mohegan Sun show. I doubt it though.
I wonder where you can get that watch...

Oh boy, we can certainly hope that he does it at Mohegan Sun, but more than likely not. Jimmy, if you are reading this thread or if someone tells you about this thread, please consider doing this song? Please!
Seriously, I bet you could get a stop watch and easily have the guts taken out and have Breathe in, Breathe out, move on put in it like the song. I don't know if a jewelry store would do something like this, but start there and ask around.

One of my most favorite of his 'newer' songs. It's soothing, thoughtful, sad, and I just love it.

Yes, his name is Philipe -had that name when we got him, thought it was cool so we kept it. Tigger & Charlie DO NOT LIKE HIM!!! We've had him for a couple of months & it is not getting any better

I figure eventually it will die down (at least I hope so)

Matt Betton co-wrote this song. Some of my most favorite JB songs, including School Boy Heart, are Matt Betton co-writes.

Something about black cats and orange cats. I had an orange tabby and a black/white tuxedo that never got along. Eventually they mostly left each other alone...

I was singing this song two weekends ago while walking down Canal, with my freinds and wife. First return to the city since Katrina, and it was great.

Trying to get this post to relate to the topic as well as Black and White kitties
I'm anxiously awaiting the time my cats decide to BI BO MO.
Right now Domino is in a cage in the living room. Amber is hiding in a back bedroom. Nutmeg comes over and has growling sessions with Domino
I'm going to do the cage thingie until everyone is used to each other being around. Domino is still spending her days on the 3 season porch...but she is sleeping inside in the cage. The cage is not her favorite thing, but she is settling down in there at night now. It is supposed to get down to 27 tonght...so she is lucky she has graduated to the cage inside. Domino was a stray living under the bushes in front of my house for a couple of months.

It is a great song and I have been hoping to hear it at a show since it was released.
I have a parrot head friend that used to work for me. When I would start to get stressed out he would just say those simple words to me. It was a great reminder. He has moved on to a better job, but we still remind each other when things get out of control.

Yes, this is one of his best songs - and another songline for our lives.
We all have "hurricanes", some larger than others.
Sometimes it clears the vision and gives the strength for one more moment, hour, day, week, etc.

This is one of our favorite songs also. Want to hear it live one day as well.
With the summer/fall we've had we can definitely take the lyrics to heart. Definitely makes one stop and reconsider life's priorities.

One of his best tunes......It has gotten me up out of bed many mornings when it would have been just as easy to say ***k this why bother. I hope to hear him play this live...It would be a great way to head back to the parking lot.

The song is a fitting coda to "Tryin' to Reason with Hurricane Season" ....

Personally, this is one of the premier JB songs that influences my daily life. I'm sure, like most of you, I find myself mentally quoting JB lyrics frequently. This one has helped me through family crises, health issues, physical pain and many other things. He just knows how to put it into words that touch our lives.
