Seas in my veins wrote:Francis, was this a serious question? Look at us we cut too much! The question is what did you do on those days you cut! PARTY

Hope all is well in OC!
Much like "surfpirate" if there was a swell I was on it, along with a couple days of "wake and bake"

Now that I'm a responsible adult and father, I reward my keets hard work at school with a day off here and there moreso in the spring with family day trips to the Inner Harbor or NYC.
OC is finally quiet, living on the southend it's just me and a occasional fisherman or two

NEVER in grade school or high school. I couldn't. My mom worked at the grade school and knew all the teachers at the high school.

I was a shy (no kidding) homebody with no car, where was I gonna go ? *sigh*
College.....oh heck yeah.

Yeah, I skipped school several times while in high school.
This is where the term "DEER IN THE HEADLIGHTS" originated-
On one occasion when I skipped school, I headed downtown (there were no malls here then), and walked into one of the drug stores, which had a soda fountain, thinking I was going to treat myself to a delicious cherry phosphate.
As I walked in the front door to the store, right there at the main check-out register ringing up the customers was none other than Mrs. Amy Grace Joseph, mother of yours truly.
Can you say
DEER IN THE HEADLIGHTS?

Most of the times I skipped school, my teachers encouraged it.

climbed out the window a time or two.. mom and dad visited during the Day too..

funny you should mention about the hunting thing...reminded me of my high school, which at the time was in a VERY rural area. The first day of deer and turkey season, we all KNEW exactly who would be "sick" that day.

No way. My dad was one of my high school teachers and my track coach.
Besides that he was always "Bigger John".
