I have never played soccer, but I do believe it is a tough sport. But what that person did was completely uncalled for and I think she should not be allowed to play ever again.

And in your post where it says ‘girl’-- you misspelled ‘obnoxious broad’.

Yep ban her from college and watch her closely if she goes pro.

I liked the commercials though, the joy of others is always good.

I'm not sure that "girl" is the word I'd use for her. [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

Saw this a few days ago.
If a male athlete did this I could see Assault charges being filed.

Wasn't there a pro hockey player charged with assault for a high-sticking incident in a game about ten years back?
What makes this any different?
This female-type thug should be made an ex-soccer player ASAP.

They wouldn't stick. One of the few assault charges-worthy incidents I have seen watching sports is this one

The league sorta punished Bertuzzi (c*ck s*cker), but eh... the whole thing was kind of let go. You can get away with a LOT of this sort of thing in sports. Ruined Steve Moore's career and damn near killed him. He was a good kid. :-?

Pretty bad behavior for a soccer game, although not uncommon. Just another 'day at the office' in a sport like hockey where teams specifically hire goons and fans cheer the resulting fisticuffs. :-?

It'll probably end up like that Oregon football player that got in trouble early this year at the Boise State game. He was suspended but I think they lifted the suspension and he should be back.

She should be banned from soccer permanently, banned from school, taken out and beat about the head and shoulders by a rabid psycho ex-convict with women issues. Then put in mandatory therapy. Too harsh ? No.

My son played soccer as a kid and then in high school. There were a lot elbows thrown at my son when the refs weren't looking.

If I pulled that nonsense at a concert or in the mall I'd wake up in a jail cell.
Don't tell me her conduct is not criminal because she plays for a sports team, or that it's OK in hockey, soccer is just full of wimps. No amateur sports team should ever tolerate that behavior, and if I were a security guard in the arena, or even if I were a cop in the bleachers, I'd have her ass in handcuffs before she made it to the locker room.

Grow up, girlie. You ain't special. You're just another spoiled rotten punk who needs some wall-to-wall counseling.

I am not defending her actions, however I would like to point out that in many cases she was retaliating for cheap shots that the BYU players were dishing out. I will admit that none of their actions came close to this level of violence and there should be severe and swift punishment for her actions. I do believe that the officials at the game should have been calling a lot more of the fouls that were happening earlier in the game in order to prevent things from escalating.

will have to agree, although I have to wonder too how much of the hair-pull/faceplant was played up for sympathy too. The first shot, "jostling for position", the little blonde from BYU puts an elbow in the hairpuller's sternum.
