Doesn't anybody want to start making up some rumors round here?

My cousin's sister-in-law's friend's uncle's boss'es son said that they think he will be back on the Camden side possibly the 19th or the 26th of June. Official dates will be announced on or about January 31st, and tickets will go on sale February 6th.

Of course, since it was whispered down the lane, it could be in Philly in the first week in August and be first come first served at the door.
No Nick, I have it on good authority, 8) that Bubba will be in the Philly area around June 11th!!!!

I know nothing about Live Nation.
I've heard a radio ad a couple of times for the Jax show and they say "ticketmaster" :-?

Hi Guys,

Looking for some advise re the Feb dates in FL. Is there a a history of Jimmy playing dates early and then returning later in the year?

The reason for the question: Myself and Brother Marcus are planning a trip to catch a Jimmy concert in Florida (ticket permitting!!) from the uk this year to mark my 40th (I really am a pirate looking at 40!!) and I am wondering are these dates going to be the only florida shows this year? An escape from the cold & snow of the UK would be very welcome next month but I have a vision of seeing the great man play outside, in the warm Florida sunshine whilst drinking something very alcoholic!

Also can someone please explain tailgateing?

Any advice greatly recieved.

Cheers

Hey Brother Steve,

I don't think anyone really knows what Jimmy will do with regard to Florida shows (or any shows for that matter!) :D

I am just looking forward to reading the tailgating explanations!

Hey Brother Steve,

You can look at past tour years on this site and see where he has played each year. If my memory serves me correctly, he has played Florida before in the fall. But nothing is ever concrete until you are sitting at the show.

What do you mean "explain the tailgating"? Are you looking for full explanation of the Buffett tailgate experience?? Or just basices (time, what you should bring, etc)
There's this one particular harbor.....

Hey Brother Steve! We won't know if there wil be any more Florida dates this year until more dates are announced.

Tailgating, well, the tailgating is an experience. It happens in the parking lot at most venues and starts when the venue opens and continues throughout the concert. Creativity at its finest comes out at tailgate parties, and it is a day when people have an excuse to digress in age 20 years, have a hell of a lot of fun, and get away with it. Of course, there is a lot of food and a lot of alcohol, so if you want to remember the concert, pace yourself.

Hey Brother Steve - Jimmy usually plays Frisco (Texas) around the April/May time frame. If you would like a first hand experience at one, I would be glad to guide you along. Two years ago we took "He went to paris" (from UK) to Frisco and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. Although this wasn't his first and he knew to """"PACE YOURSELF""""".

Hey Guy,

The tailgateing sounds really cool, we have something simular when England play home rugby internationals at Twickenham (although not as rawcuss I guess!). Who organizes them and what do you bring with you? Sounds like a must do and something we would really like to experience.

Bufetphlock, thanks for the invite we may well take you up on the offer if the opportunity presents itself.

Still not sure weather to go for tickets this Saturday or to wait it out, having seen Jimmy in London & Paris in 09 it would be great to see a 'home' concert. Have looked back through previous tours and there doesnt seem to be a pattern of Florida dates, what's your gut feeling guys?

Cheers

Okay, here is my gut feeling, and take it for what it is worth. These February dates that Jimmy is doing are not the official kick off of this year's tour as they are still summerzcool dates. If you want to see a show that might be similar to what you saw in London then go for tickets. However, if you can wait it out and are able to be flexible to go somewhere else other than Florida, I would consider wating it out.

Parrotheadinthemaking,

Thanks for that :D I am thinking along these lines myself. Flexibility not an issue so will be keeping my ear to the ground and my eyes on here over the coming weeks/months.

Has anyone been to a show at the Hampton Casino in NH? Right on the beach and seems like a nice smaller venue in a secondary market. :D

Hmmmm ... ok, I'll give it a shot.

Tailgating began on the Island of Critter Key (IRoCK) back in the 17th Century. A complete history may be found HERE. But a brief summary follows ........

ISLAND HISTORY

The island was discovered by a French Capitaine Jean Luc Poirot, who claimed to be a French Naval Officer but was later tried and hung as a pirate.
He claimed the island as the Isle du Poirot, and its capital, where the local tribe lived, he named Poirotburg.
Image

The island was inhabited by a tribe of Carib Indians who welcomed their new friends. The tribe were a very friendly and outgoing people,
and were known for stopping work and throwing huge celebrations for almost any reason,
something the French crew enjoyed very much during their stay.
Image

The French Explorers left after only a few months when word came that the Spanish Navy were coming for them.
According to Spanish records (the details are heavily disputed by the French), Poirot and his crew were responsible
for commandeering 2 sloops filled with rum which was destined for Havana. After taking the rum and other of the
ships’ cargo, Poirot’s pirates set the Spanish crewmen adrift in lifeboats and set their sloops afire.

When Poirot left the Isle du Poirot, a few of his crew mutinied and hid on the far side of the island.
These crew members continued to live on their side of the island and trade with the tribe. They married
women from the tribe and had children.
Image

One of the crew was an Englishman who was literate and started a school for both their and the tribe's children.
His name was Paul Crite'. While teaching the children English, names started to become Anglicized. What was once
Poirotburg soon became known as Parrotsburg, and the local tribe that lived there started to be called
"the parrot people" by those that lived on surrounding islands. The village that Crite' and the other mutineers
created soon became known as Critterville and those that lived there became known as Critters.

Things on the island went well after the Poirot left. On the first Anniversary of him leaving, May 24, 1659,
they celebrated. The mutineers brought out rum that was still hidden in a cave in the Highlands, and the locals brought
food and music, and wore customary skirts and bras, much to the amazement of the tribe.
Since then, coconut bras and grass skirts have become common for both men and women at all island celebrations.

It was also a custom of the tribe to put colorful feathers in front of their huts to let others know they were welcome
to join them for festivities. People would make their way around the town looking for tail feathers,
knowing that wherever the tail feathers were found, that identified the home as a gathering place for the festivities.
As the town grew and more modern homes were built, the feathers were left on the gates in front of their homes,
and soon the term "tailgating" was coined.

Brother Steve...you mentioned a "home concert". I wouldn't worry too much about catching Jimmy in is home state of Florida if that's what you mean. I'm sure Jimmy feels at home at any of his outdoor summer stops, as will you if you decide to visit then.
