Not at all. I like all those bands (with the exception of Prince) but a 10 minute "performance" at the SB doesn't really appeal to me.
I view the halftime show much like I view the pregame show --- an overproduced spectacle short on substance.
JMHO .... I liken it to having two football teams come out and scrimmage during intermission at one of Jimmy's show.

Now more than ever it seems Buffett would be just as a good choice as the last few but I don't really care.

The Guess Who was a totally different group and not nearly the legendary Band the Who is/

saw them a few years ago--when it was good, it was wonderful, but Daltrey was really straining his voice and at one point he was off stage (they claimed it was headaches) and they did 2 or 3 songs without him which was weird.

So I still don't know after reading this thread.... Who is playing the halftime show???
and What is the main dish at the food stands?

I'm getting a little tired of the NFL marching out 60+ year old legends to do these whipped-up frenzied halftime gigs.
It's pretty clear who the league cronies are schmoozing with these recent choices of McCartney and The Stones,
and their appeal is unquestioned (but to older fans mostly), and the performances are usually too rushed, and disappointingly, lackluster.
The last really great live performance I would credit was Prince a couple years back.

I'd like to see the NFL mix it up more, blending young hot artists in collaborations with some classic acts,
similar to what we just saw go down at the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame concerts last week. (i.e. Fergie with Mick Jagger doing "Gimme Shelter").
Line up 5 duets on dueling stages to make it seamless, and throw in surprise, unannounced guest artists.

Bring back a real sense of unplanned excitement! That's when live music is at it's best!

Will Pete Townsend be allowed into the country? I know there was some talk about him not being allowed in because he is a registered sex offender.
