Re: It's Now Official-Bufffett On CMT Crossroads
Can we get a comprehensive list of who-all from here was in attendance, and your location/attire?
That way when this is broadcast I (and maybe others) can hopefully match up some faces to the handles.
Or at least figger out if the poster is male or female.....

One thing I forgot to mention - There was a large teleprompter hanging over the audience (facing the stage) scrolling the lyrics and who was to sing them. I guess that was for the ZBB because Jimmy would never use such a thing

Re: It's Now Official-Bufffett On CMT Crossroads
I was sitting 2nd row infront of JW. I gotta admit if it wasn't for that teleprompter JB would have been a lost puppy dog. He still pulled it off, but it was almost as if he just listened to the songs right before he went on stage and that was it.
When they were done with Zac's tunes JB he looked over at Utley and motioned as if was wipping sweat of his forehead and said "Man I am glad that's done" ...Utley made the same gesture and Jimmy blamed his senior moments to Zac and the crowd....then they were asked to do it over again.... I honestly got a little nervous for the him when they were told to do them over again because you could easily read that is not what he wanted to hear...but like I said THE MAN pulled it off!
Zac aced Jimmy's old and new stuff....he sang his arse off.
If I was allowed to take a camera....man that pics I could have gotten would have ROCKED!

Re: It's Now Official-Bufffett On CMT Crossroads
Hmmmmmm ....... it appears that CMT.com has a discussion board with a *group* specifically for the Crossroads Show.
See ...... http://community.cmt.com/groups/cmt_crossroads
It also appears as if this group only has 31 members and that discussions are few and far between. Only 31 members in the group and only 13 discussions to date. The latest discussion activity was nearly a week ago.
Now I wonder ....... not that I am encouraging rogue misbehavior mind you...... but I wonder ..... what would happen if a lot of Parrotheads joined the discussion group and pumped up the talk surrounding Jimmy's appearance on CMT Crossroads? Now wouldn't that be interesting?

Re: It's Now Official-Bufffett On CMT Crossroads
Sounds like a GREAT TIME !!! I really wish I could've found a way to get into the show/concert.
And I wish somebody had been able to take a picture. Wonder why they were so against that ? I bet it had something to do with copywriting or CMT stuff.

after checking in with no problems, we were let inside the doors. the first thing i noticed as i walked in, how small the place was. 300-350 people max. we had GA tickets, so were trying to find a good seat. right as we walked in, a lady with cmt pointed to us and said to follow her. she asked if we were big fans, etc...we said oh yes, big parrotheads. she led us to the front row, right in front of jimmy and zac's mic! i almost passed out! she told us they wanted big fans in the front row for the cameras, and if she gave us those seats, we had to promise to stand, sing and have a good time...NO PROBLEM! i was in shock at this point. getting to see this show...and front row????? i had to be dreaming!
anyway, the show began and it was amazing. they split it up into 2 sets...1st zac brown band songs, 2nd jimmy songs. during the zac brown set...nadirah, tina, robert, ralph, and utley were alos on stage. mac joined for the final 2 songs. during the jimmy set...roger guth, will kimbrough and uncle jim joined the party.
it was obvious, jimmy was really focused during the zac brown set. he didnt want to screw up, he even joked about it after the set was over. it was tough for them to get into a rythm, b/c cmt had to give the thumbs up after every song, making sure it was a good take. they actually had to re-do 3 songs...but nobody complained![]()
the set list....
toes-redo
where the boat leaves-redo
free/one love
chicken fried
soasoas
nobody from nowhere
wings-redo
pirate
mville
the hi-lites, imo, were toes and pirate. i wanted to see jimmy do toes b/c i thought i was a perfect jb song...and it was. robert on the pans was great!
for pirate...it was just jimmy, zac and mac on stools...roberts on the pans....great!
the show lasted around 90 minutes.
after the show wrapped, jimmy was walking off stage and i stuck my hand up. he stopped, came back to me and shook my hand. i almost passed out! then...i managed to get robert's set-list!
afterwards, the entire zac brown band and mac hung-out with the fans, which i thought was really cool. i got to meet zac and say hello to mac.
just a fantastic night! i know how incredibly lucky i am to have experienced this. dream night come true!!!!!! cant wait until march to see the finished show!

Re: It's Now Official-Bufffett On CMT Crossroads
i'm still on a high! i'm surprised a few people managed to get a few pics. the "stage manager" warned us not to try before the show began...he said since the show would not air until march, they wanted to be certain no images or video leaked until then. as for what i wore...no, i didnt wear my god's own drunk shirt. cmt sent an email to a few people that i manged to get ahold of, a lis of do's and dont's. it said if you wanted a "camera seat" to not wear white or bright colored clothing. they preferred dark colors, so i wore a black sweater. i'm going to guess i will be on the cmt show, b/c a camera was in my face all night.
a few other random thoughts....
zac brown is a heck of a performer. he had no problem with jimmy's stuff. in fact, his entire band is great.
mac also is a great performer. he had no problem with zac's stuff.
that is sooo awesome you went to an after party with ZBB paul...sweet!
it was a night i will never forget. my best buffett experience ever, hands down!

Re: It's Now Official-Bufffett On CMT Crossroads
WHINE ALERT !!!!!!!!
I heard the Nashville parrothead club got 40 tickets to that taping/show. FORTY !!!
I wish the CMT people or whoever in charge of giving out tickets could've spread the wealth just one tiny little itty iota. Our club didn't get any, I'm not sure if the Smoky Mt. or Memphis, or other Tennessee clubs got any.
I told you I was gonna whine.
I guess it was easier to just give them that amount and be done with it.
I'm not begrudging the Nashville club their tickets.....I just wish they (those giving out tickets) could've allowed a few more of the total amount to other clubs. Somebody set me straight, gently.

We (Nashville Parrothead club Music City PHiNs) got 20 invites 5 days before the show. We got standing room only tickets on the 2nd floor with a lovely view of the lights, rigging and backs of band member heads.citcat wrote:WHINE ALERT !!!!!!!!I heard the Nashville parrothead club got 40 tickets to that taping/show.
