What I've seen so far online I like. While doing Zack's songs I get the impression that Jimmy is trying not to blow the lyrics. Great job!
As for Mystic, I've never even heard of the song but I like it.
Now to find out when it reruns so I can dvr it and throw it on cd and dvd.
Watched it last nite, didn't know how to work the dvr it's on again tomorrow afternoon at 2 eastern......yup planning my day around it have the dvd formatted and in the machine already

I tried and it kept saying "You must enter a valid email address" I don't know what the problem is.

Not familiar with "Mystic"? It's actually called "Into the Mystic" and it's on Van Morrison's Moondance album. For all of you BNer's not familar with Van or this disk - you should check it out. There isn't a bad song on this album. While looking at Moondance....check out "Tupelo Honey"....great cuts on this album like the title cut and "Wild Nights". Both are great for listening to while enjoying your favorite beverage on the deck.

Moondance is a fabulous album.....and "Into the Mystic" is hands down, my favorite Morrison song.

they did a fantastic version of "where the boat leaves from" that didnt make the final cut. i was disappointed not to see that again last night, wings also didnt make the final cut.
fantastic show. watching it again last night made me realize, again, how lucky i was to be there.
Yes lucky is not the word for it but I know what you mean still get goosebumps when I watch the video
I didn't realize you made it there, flock. Super kudos to you, KY, and anyone else... 'if you're lucky enough to get into the Crossroads taping, you're lucky enough!' I'm big thrilled for all of you... what a magical show!

So I bought the foundation album today and the live version of the Free/ into the mystic from his live 4 song disk.
Great stuff, and I am sure almost all of you know but I guess for the few that don't lol
Jimmys Brown Eyed Girl is of course also a Van M cover song.
Anyway I am absolutely loving this music.
I had 2 friends at the live taping of this that are locals , small town Iowa,
I believe the one's wife got them through a radio station perhaps.
Great show that obviously could have gone on much longer.

as hard as it is to believe...i like that version better than the crossroads version, it is amazingly powerful....
just a few random thoughts about the show
i really wish where the boat leaves from and wings would have made the cut, both were fantastic. but...i understand this was a 60 minute show and something had to be cut
clay cook did a version of america the beautiful, which intro-ed chicken fried. it was breath-taking
jimmy and zac had a great chemistry on stage, really interacted with each other between songs
the first line of free...."we live out of our old van"...zac said that van was a real van he owned, that was only used once a year for buffett road trips.

Clay Cook can flat out play! I saw him do America the Beautiful LIVE!! AWESOME!
I absolutely agree about Where the Boat Leaves From. I think it is ZBB's best song, at least from a P'Head point of view!

I missed the 10 pm show, but my son got it on the DVR.He texted me and said it was great during the first song.He was right! It was awesome! My son is a big fan of ZBB.The dude can play.Did you catch Mike Utley blending in a little Changes in Latitudes during Toes?At least I think I heard it,sounded like it,maybe I'm getting old.I like the fact Zack went back to people like Gordon Lightfoot as mentors or foundations of his music.Awesome, let's see if Jimmy plays a song of his this year.Hopefully he does Free/Mystic,he can pull that one off it's in his range.

Man maybe I should have waited LOL
Na, I am listening to him on my mp3 today, good stuff.
I think Jimmy would do a great job on at least a few of his songs, and I think after this shows airing it would go over big.
As far as Jimmy having openers, I don't know that I would really go for it because I do appreciate tailgating right up until he comes on stage.
But through the years I can remember , some great openers. lets see .......
Bonnie Raitt the very first time I saw Jimmy play, 1982, and some others have been
Little feat
John Prine
Marshal Chapman
Ok thats all the farther my memory goes LOL
I also remember seeing Jimmy when Timothy B Schmidt from the Eagles was with the band
That was pretty cool because of course he would sing " I can't tell you why" each show
Anyway sure am glad the Alpine show is earlier this year than last year, heres hoping for better weather !!!

ZBB has a show on 04.24.2010 in Live Oak, FL. and then a show on 04.29.2010 in Wilkesboro, NC. So maybe we will see him with Jimmy in Atlanta on 4-27-10.

That was a great show! In addition to the ZBB songs, I loved the accoustic version of APL@40 and I'm looking forward to hearing Nobody from Nowhere this year.
Maybe this will inspire Jimmy to shake things up a little this year.

Not much of a Country music fan, so didn't see that performance orginally. Just watched it and WOW! Great guitar by Zac. But you gotta give PROPS to the violinist too!!
