Best place for stone crab in Key West?? I had planned to stop at Joe's in Miami but I could hold off and just have a snack at AJ's........
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

Hey!!
Make sure you print the Chamber of Commerce coupon for Margaritaville..
We all know if we buy something we will spend more than $35..
It is 20% off and a free Reusable bag much better deal than the MoTM deal.

That sounds like paradise to me too! :D Actually any place with Scott Kirby playing works for me. We can make that our first stop after we go to Wally World. 8)

Ditto - 2 years ago when I was staying at the Casa I came out into the clear blue sunshine and he was playing, the water in the pool and in the ocean beyond was sparkling like diamonds - I literally almost started crying the whole thing was so perfect. I have a picture of it I should post.

hey gang... have a question for those of you going! First, how excited are you!? Ok, stupid question. Second... is anyone driving down from Ft Lauderdale on Thursday morning? I have a friend that is looking for a ride (and trust me, shes way cool!). Obviously, would kick in gas money and some good laughs.

Let me know! thanks!

Scott Kirby is playing Snappers this Saturday evening....we'll be there if anyone else is in the area and wants to get together....

BTW, The Fish House in Key Largo has awesome seafood...never had the stone crab there but liked what I had, and saw numerous "awards" for best seafood in Upper Keys

since I don't eat meat or seafood, the foods that I look forward to in the keys are sooo different from most people's

but among my favorites... Blue Heaven's Luncheon Tortillas and all the great breakfast places like Camille's

i LOVE key lime pie, but sadly i can't eat a lot of it because of my blood sugar

but this year i really need to make it over to the vegetarian place that KK keeps telling me about :D and since it's so close to where we are staying this year, it just might happen this time :o

After looking over the schedule all I can say is that anyone that makes it thrugh the whole week should be awarded and Ironman or Ironwoman of the year award. Forget CMA musician of the year. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]
it's a marathon, not a sprint...stay fed, stay hydrated and sleep on the plane home!

At the end of my first trip to KW for MOTM I realized the only things I'd had to eat all weekend were conch fritters, conch chowder and key lime pie. I've expanded to include the biscotti at the coffee house near the far end of Duval and Cuban food. 8)
A wise man once sang..

"I wanna back to the island
Where the shrimp boats tie up to the pilin'
Gimme oysters and beer
For dinner every day of the
year and I'll feel fine
I'll feel fine"

I'll have some conch fritters, key lime pie and Cuban sandwiches....but my goal is to eat my body weight in oysters while I'm there
Hope Marilyn is ready for that! Thank goodness you're in the pool house! :o :o

Stone Crab for me - can't get enough of that!
I'm with Chris....love oysters....evern checked out menus ...Turtle Kraal has a dozen at 6 and change i think i saw......i even have Pam doing oyster shooters....i do love stone crabs too....but for the money ,ands what you get, isn't much!!!
