I was looking at the entertainment schedule.....psyched to see Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band will be playing on one of the days

will do....i know someone who may rent out there couch for 75.00 a night.....not sure if it's still available!!!
Sorry Tommy, but I think our couch is spoken for.....but expect to get it all settled in the next month.....if things change we'll let you know

yes......my plan is to maybe fly into Lauderdale Tuesday night.....then get up early to drive down Wed morning ( non stop )...be there by noon is the goal....not sure if i want to fly and drive the same day.....then Sun morning drive back to Lauderdale and fly out that night.....i'll do one way rentals on the car...why pay for the car to sit.....that is the plan for now.....i think the other part of the plan may happen with my Pam going too!!!.
That's pretty much what I do every year.
The way I do it is to fly into Lauderdale, and then drive down Florida's Turnpike and US 1 until I get to Key Largo. If I arrive at 4:30, I hit Largo around 8. It's worth the extra $30+ to stay in Largo rather than Homestead.
If you arrive early enough to be able to make it into the Keys by 7 PM, take Card Sound Road and stop at Alabama Jack's. They close at 7 PM though.
There's usually a Pit Stop Party put on by some Key Largo folks that runs from Monday through Tuesday nights. I recommend it. Last year they managed to wangle Parrothead discounts at a couple of the local hotels and motels. I just heard last night that the party is definitely *on* for this year. Details will follow, I'm sure.
I then recommend taking some time driving down the Keys, to stop at various eating and drinking establishments and enjoy the view and ambiance. I usually hit Key West somewhere around 3-4 in the afternoon, which is plenty of time to get checked into my room and then wander down to Mallory Square for sunset.
In order to do this semi-intelligently, you need Captain Ron's and Pirate John's Guide to Driving the Keys. Google on it; you can download a PDF and print it. The last update I got was around 2004; some stuff has changed, but most of it is still accurate and relevant.

my flight wouldn't get in until 9:30 - 10:00..........so i would drive down a bit.....then get a hotel......but i want to get down there and will go straight through!!!

Did you miss the KD Moore one or the other one? I don't know if KD's is sold out yet. I didn't make the first one either. It's too early to think about the details.

Too early for details???? I had almost everything booked in February!!! LOL! I didn't sign up for the cruise either....just the BeachFront one!

Too early for details???? I had almost everything booked in February!!! LOL! I didn't sign up for the cruise either....just the BeachFront one!
Oh I booked a place to stay and my flight as soon as Jet Blue opened up November but the side trips not so much.

Still running with both from last year. It also gets a lot of questions from folks here, "Duuuude... you ok? That looks like you spent a lot of time in the hospital."
