Can't wait to carry bejeweled around with me. :D :D
I was able to update early to my I-Phone but only either on line or at an AT&T store. Give it a shot.
I've called and talked to them on the phone, and I can do an early upgrade, but it's just about $499 instead of $599, or something like that.

I WILL try again at the store.

I've had my iphone for over a month and haven't had a dropped call yet. However I'm not a heavy phone user. The coverage is at least as good as my last phone. In fact at my house, i have better coverage...I don't need to sit by the front window.

I was worried about the battery life. I charge it nearly every evening. I'm surprised at how quickly it charges up.

I need to get one ot those play over the radio thingies for the car.

Add me to the new I phone users!!.. So far so good but am taking this real slow. Thanks for all of the Apps to look at!! I already have gotten Bejewled, Facebook, and Shazam. I also got Dragon Dictation.. This is great since I have never texted before, and I'm kinda slow.. This App is voicer activated so you can talk your text message and it types for you!!
Thanks to whomever posted about removing an App. That might be handy!! Can't wait to try some of these out!!

Oh PharmGirl told me about one I like called Big Button. You can juust press anywhere on the whole screen to take a picture instead of that little button!!

It sure seems like it sucks through battery life faster than I expected. I'm a little worried about playing games or using the iPod feature on a long plane flight tomorrow since I need to have enough battery to find my bro in the airport when we land.

I think there is a little extra battery plug in available ( usually at airports :P )

Reading books on the kindle doesn't seem affect the battery nearly as much as Bejeweled...which is where I notice the battery drain the most.

Now I know why I keep seeing those backup batteries advertised. Online stuff seems to drain it the fastest, then the games. Haven't tested the iPod drain yet, but I'm taking my little nano just in case. Once I get it all figured out I will know what I will need to bring with me in the future.

One thing I noticed about LAX last time I flew out was a significant lack of outlets, and if there are any they're not next to any seats. I babysat a gal's phone last time while she ran to use the restroom, she didn't want to give up her outlet spot. Guess I looked trustworthy. :o

Apps I have been having fun with...ebay, google and urbanspoon. I love Urbanspoon...you can shake it and it pulls up restaurants like a slot machine. But the best feature is "scope". Aim the phone at the horizon and it comes up with restaurants in that direction, with ratings, directions etc. How fun is that? :) Used it to find a great restaurant in San Pedro yesterday, one I will definitely go back to.

Just got a new app last week. It is really cool!

Free!

HP iPrint Photo

It will print pix from your camera roll in your iphone to a wireless printer. It's really fun. There may be better ones out there, I don't know, but hey this was free!!! I just wanted to try it and it worked great!
Down side? It only prints your pix. No internet stuff. But hey, like I said, FREE.

the scope is on the Urbanspoon app.
while your in that app, you can point the phone in a direction, and it will give you places in that direction.
its on the bottom where it says shake, search, browse, etc.

hope that helps! :D

Thanks :D I have urbanspoon but have not looked at it in a long time.

For scrabble lovers try Words With Friends, I tried out the free first then added the one for 2.99 so I did not get the commercials. You can play scrabble against your friends that have iphones.

Waaahaaahaaaaaaaaa!  I can just picture you looking through all those apps and thinking, "WTF was she talking about...restaurants that serve squirrel and road kill or a new way to dine and dash??!!"

Sorry about the confusion. :P

bumpity bump bump to see if anyone has any cool new apps and to ask a question.

I'm still searching for a car charger. From what I am finding online, what is out there is crap, and it doesn't appear apple actually makes any accessories, and the few they appear to endorse on their website aren't compatible with all models. I bought an extended battery thingie at Target to tide me over, only to find out that while it SAYS it is compatible with the 3GS, when you plug it in the phone says no way, Jose. :x And of course I found this out AFTER I threw out the packaging, which I usually never do...but I took it at its word. What, if anything, are you all using? And if you have one that is a charger and FM transmitter, even better. Then I could listen to RM.

As for apps, my new time waster is skeeball....and I'm as lousy at it on my phone as I am in real life. Shrinky got me stuck on the WeeMee app, it's fun but needs more stuff! I also got Around Me, which gives locations of various types of businesses, the Martha Stewart everyday food app, and last night I downloaded an app called iJoshuaTree, which includes all sorts of info about Joshua Tree National Park, including pics to ID wildflowers. I was supposed to head out there today to shoot some wildflower and bird pics, but have put it on hold til Thursday. Hoping the app will come in handy.

I am digging Parrot Head. It has all the lyrics to JB's songs, a lyric trivia game and drink recipes! Very cool and only .99 cents.
