I-95 Song
I have not figured out why so many people insist that the or a version of I-95 The A$$hole Song is recorded by Jimmy Buffett. It's Fred "August" Campbell. I've never been able to comment on anything on youtube. Anyone else have that problem?

Re: I-95 Song
I believe that the confusion over the I-95 song dates back to the early days of napster and other music sharing services.
Many individuals who shared songs had the I-95 song listed as a Jimmy Buffett song in thier napster file lists etc. As a result many people just assumed it was jimmy singing the song.

Probably to get people to listen to it? Some people did things like that. It's just funny to see people insist that it's Jimmy Buffett singing it when it obviously is not!

I figured people thought that because he kinda sorta sounds like Jimmy and to a non-fan I could see where they believe it.

Re: I-95 Song
I see that alot on music sharing sites with "The Pina Colada song" attributing it to Jimmy. Come on, that's rum, not tequilla!
No bad vibes intended towards rum. I enjoy them both, just tequilla a little bit more.....often.

C'mon, pholks, the old sea chantey was "Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum", not "Yo ho ho and a frozen margarita"!!looking4OPH wrote:I see that alot on music sharing sites with "The Pina Colada song" attributing it to Jimmy. Come on, that's rum, not tequilla!![]()

Hey, the first time I heard "Two Pina Coladas" (Garth Brooks) on a jukebox I thought it was a new Jimmy Buffett song....and for that matter, I still think if Jimmy and the Reefers ever did decide to cover it — especially at a show — that it would come out sounding absolutely fabulous.

Re: I-95 Song
Actually the confusion dates back further then that. It would seem that a 45 pressing of the song was out for jukeboxes andurlcenter wrote:I believe that the confusion over the I-95 song dates back to the early days of napster and other music sharing services.

had Jimmy Buffett on the label. I have seen photos of them and no amount of arguing was gonna convince the people who took those photos was gonna convince them. When people tell me that Jimmy recorded that song I simply just smile and say "that's nice" and go about my day.
