So.... We went to Key West. The first night we were there, we went to Cpt. Tony's. I bought his book. If anyone wants to read something really special that will completely change you life read Life Lessons of a Legend. I thank Brad Manard for writing this book. From the bottom of my heart. Somehow in the last few years, I have lost the jewel in people. I have totally forgotten how to compliment people and seek the jewel in every soul. I have cried many times in the last week reading this book. So... if you have not read this book, Capt. Tony says," Compassion is the most important word in the dictionary. There is a jewel in every person. The simplest good thing we can do for each other is to always say a nice thing that will make the other person feel better. A simple word of kindness. And at the other end of the spectrum.... making mistakes 1st class means you make your decision for the right reasons, for the good of people and a bettterment of those around you. Then if it all turns bad, you accept your mistakes and move on. The truth is., life is just people, Ego aside, isn't helping one person enough??? So to all parrotheads out there, Share a word of kindness this weekend. Compliment your grocery store worker on her ear rings. Tell your neighbor their lawn looks really cool in Santa Stuff. On this site, please, nobody glote about what you do. Don't say it, Do it. Look at everyone. Before you judge people,,,,,,Seek the jewel... Again, I thank Brad for this book. I have cried, I have laughed and I have learned. Thanks Cptn Tony. I wish I could have had you sign my shirt and flirt with me you old salty dog.

Amen. It's an excellent book, and I am also very thankful to Brad for having taken it on and gotten it out there. It's made a measurable difference in how I live my life today.

The bar's pretty good too. :) I was there the night Tony passed over. They actually had a single-malt Scotch worth buying so that I could toast him proper. The singer that night had no clue about "finding the jewel," but I'm happy to say that some of my other Conch friends *do*. So this year I was back, and got to play a few including "Last Mango." It was an honor to play that song in that place, and I only wish I'd thought of it a year earlier.
