Big deal; I like Italian more than burgers anyway, and this lasts longer than just Christmastime besides.

Actually, I have. Back in the mid-'80s my sister used to live down in the northern area of Austin, and I made a couple of trips with the rest of the family down there. Maybe it's because it was so long ago, or maybe they've changed since then, but I don't seem to remember the Whataburgers as being anything much more than a localized version of McD's, Burger King, or Carl's Jr/Hardee's.

And for any Austin P'heads: I also remember the Old San Francisco Steak House (with the girl on the swing and the freakin' huge block of Swiss cheese), just off of I-35. As near as I can tell from the 'net, it is now closed; too bad, as I would have definitely stopped back there should I have ever found myself down in Austin again. I guess I'd better take good care of the little souvenir magnet I still have.....

no but I think I'll go have a shiner

oh and BTW there are now 2 sonics in Washington that I know of - and one is not too far from my house. It's just near a mall on a street that has a ton of traffic. Connie don't deal well with traffic. Makes her wish she had someone with her to get out of big red and pee on someone's windshield. :P  [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

There is something about the "we don't cook it until you order it" that makes it better than McDonalds or BK.

Fresh meat (not frozen) and fresh produce... You can taste the difference.

Just my 2 cents....

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the comparison - because really there is none.

Ok I know I'm gonng at the very least get Denozoed for this but...

Whataburger is good however, there are a number of local burger places around here that tear them up.
We have a place called Big Daddy's that serves a kick ass burger. Then there is Chicago Willys another local place (don't ask me why they called it Chicago Willys but they did) that does outstanding food including Burgers, Dogs, Chili, Fries etc etc etc.
