How can I press a suede jacket?

Post by springparrot »

I recently received a suede jacket but when I took it out of the box, it was creased from being folded. And the collar was also creased wrong. I hung it up thinking the creases might fall out, but they haven't.
Does anyone know how to get the creases out without taking it to a cleaners?

I think so too
I thought there might be a simple solution, but it isn't looking like it

Carefully? ;)

I think if you let it hang for a couple of days it will take care of itself... Also try the dry cleaners.

How 'bout hanging it in the bathroom with the hot shower running for a bit?

Can you turn it inside out? Put a slightly damp towel or sheet between the iron and fabric?

This one has worked for me in the past. Worth a try, Molly. :D

That is definitely a take to the cleaner’s job. Or at least for me it would be.

take it to the cleaners....or let it hang in a steamed room - not a constant steam nor in direct contact of the steam. You could add towels rolled, lengthwise in the sleeves...But I really would take it to the cleaners

Don't get pressed. Just let it date the shirt.

I always laid it out on a flat surface and then drove over it with the steam roller...presto, the wrinkles are gone.
