Who is Charleston?

New kid on the block here again. Who is Charleston? What an imposing man! I saw him at Mohegan Sun with Jimmy in Nov. and I frequently see him in videos. He apparently watches over Jimmy (literally) quite conscientiously. Do we know his story or how he and Jimmy got together.

Sweetest guy on the planet unless provoked and then he's lightening-in-a-bottle big dude with cat feet. Just ask that lady who jumped on the stage in Miami a few years back.
Saw him in Falls Church at Mac's show in September. Was so nice to ABQKeet and me.

Agreed with him being nice. Gave me a pick at the Buffett show in June here in Great Woods.

Hey, buddy! I so enjoyed Friday night, especially having ABQKeet with me to see what it USED to be like before the carnival. He is still talking about how great the show was.
Hope you're coming to Frisco.
Back to the original question at hand. I really don't know the story behind Jimmy and Charleston. Seems like Charleston's always been there.

His name is Charleston Miles.
He sang on stage at a Jimmy Buffett surprise appearance at the Margaritaville Cafe New Orleans.
He did "My Girl."

Not sure about how they met, but Charleston told my wife and me that he had been with Jimmy for 20 or 21 years when we talked with him in Raleigh. We lucked out with pre-concert backstage in Raleigh and we started chatting with him about the Beachcomber show, so I asked how long he had been with Jimmy. After so many years, no wonder he has such a following!

Even if someone knew the entire story behind Jimmy and Charleston, I am not sure that posting it all on a public board would be wise.

He's a nice guy, but can be a bit of an obstacle if standing in front of you. He shook my hand in Pittsburgh this year and watched over my daughter while I went and got us some water.

He was a sweetheart in St Barth, he knew we were there for the long haul and we asked him to let us know if we were in the way. It was all good.

I asked him to sign my club credentials at the State Theater in Falls Church. He refused (with a great smile)and said he wasn't anybody. I told him "I bet your mom doesn't believe that!"
He was gracious, gave me a huge hug and I didn't need to see a chiropractor that month.

It has been a while since I have seen Charleston, but this is not what I remember him looking like. I know all bald people look the same, but something other than that stands out…..

The caption on the website I found it at merely says "Charleston Miles, a nice guy with a difficult job".
