Live In Hawaii Released Twice
I got it when it first came out. I could have sworn this came out either right before License To Chill or right after it. I know it came out in stores later on with slightly different packaging, with an actual flap for the DVD as opposed to the original release. Anyone remember the date of the original release? There's only one date for it and it's in May 2005. I could have sworn it came out considerably earlier than that.

When Live in Hawaii was first released it was only available direct from Mailboat Records via thier website. This is the version that has the DVD in a plain white sleeve. I believe it was released to retail stores 3 or 4 months later, this is the tri-fold package version.

The plain white sleave wasn't unique to Mailboat. Got mine at Best Buy...no tri-fold package. I was actually disappointed that it was packed this way. I am constantly losing and finding the DVD again and again. Considering that Great Heart is the only thing worth watching on the DVD, I guess I don't really mind too much.urlcenter wrote:When Live in Hawaii was first released it was only available direct from Mailboat Records via thier website. Amazon says it was previously released March 22, 2005.

My CDs and DVD all say 2004. I think I got it from mailboat and it is in the green double case...with the Bonus DVD stuck in there with the CDs. MBD 2108.
Did anyone get the little yellow notepad paper with the setlists on them. It's not in my Live In Hawaii like it was in all the other Live in Fincinnati, Auburn, Las Vegas and Mansfield
(The one from Mansfield says Fly Home!!! Tour's Over.")
And it's always nice to see the Dutch Harbour crew on the DVD...
Tiny Bubbles is nice, as are the surfing clips and OPH! and great dancers...

Didn't you like the whole band playing ukuleles except for Doyle on pedal steel?HD18JBGuy wrote:The plain white sleave wasn't unique to Mailboat. Got mine at Best Buy...no tri-fold package. It was also great seeing the stage setting...

Neat seeing Amy Lee, Tom and John in the horn section. And, Henry Kapono.

It's ok, but I thought there were much better songs throughout the CD that I would have rather watched on the DVD than the songs they selected to include.conched wrote:Didn't you like the whole band playing ukuleles except for Doyle on pedal steel?HD18JBGuy wrote:The plain white sleave wasn't unique to Mailboat. Re: Live In Hawaii Released Twice
And I remember why there is no YELLOW notepad with the setlist. The CDs are a combination of two Hawaii shows. I had forgotten that until I read the posts from back in 2004 and looked at the back of the cover to see it was the Maui show and the Waikiki show.

That seems to be the date I was having vagueness with. It was just after LTC came out. I thought it was quite interesting because he did one or two songs that were to be on LTC.
No yellow set list, DVD in a white slip, two-fold record.
The reissue is a three-fold and is the only way you can get it now - and it lists the DVD tracks I think.
