Teen charged in choking death of Pct. 4 police dog
Officials charged a 17-year-old in the choking death of a Harris County Precinct 4 K-9 pursuing him and other suspects believed to have fled a burglary in north Harris County Tuesday night.

This is getting outrageous, as well as depressing. Time to for society as a whole to take a refresher course on how to behave like civilized human beings.
At least the kid's getting off lucky, just being charged with interfering with a service animal. I've heard of other cases where the K-9 officer was considered as much a member of the force as his human handler, and assaulting/harming the K-9 would get you charges and penalties similar to what you would get for assaulting/harming the human.

The dog had a hold of the juvenile by the leg and was waiting for the officer to get there. One of the other shumcks came up behind the dog and choked him to death.
That makes me mad mad mad.......
