According to this website http://www.twentynot2000.com/ with seemingly no authority other than having a website, the pronunciation of the next year should be "twenty ten". What do you think?

I go with "twenty ten" just out of convention... Nineteen ten (1910), eighteen ten (1810), etc.

No, see, nobody said One thousand and eighty nine now did they. It was nineteen eighty nine. People said 'two thousand' because there is some strange enamoration with saying 'thousand' it seems. It's always been twenty for me. We're in the Twenty hundreds. Saying 'two thousand ten' is just so...made in China.

When 2100 comes along, people will probably say twenty-one hundred. Two Thousand Ten sounds right to me.
