AFC Wild Card Game
Who will win this AFC Wild Card Game? No matter what happens tonight, the Ravens play New England.

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Re: AFC Wild Card Game
With Wes Welker's injury and the nastiness of the Ravens defense, I think the Ravens will win.

Have to go with the hometown Pats but there's a good chance the Ravens will take this one.

With Wilfork and Warren back on the D-line the outcome of the game will be in the hands of Joe Flacco. I'm not worried: NE 20-10.

I think the Pats win this match up. Pats have too much firepower, even with Wes Welker out.

Even with Welker out, I think the Pats still have too much offensive power for the Ravens. I wouldn't be too shocked if the Ravens got a win though.

Baltimore's defense aint what it once was. That Defensive Line is crap. Linebacking core is overrated. Great Safetys. Pats win this one. Baltimore's offense just can't get it done. Brady has been playing with fractured ribs for a month now (according to ESPN) so he has got to win atleast one playoff game.

Re: AFC Wild Card Game
I don't think the Patriots' O-line can keep Brady off of his backside, even though the Ravens aren't the defensive juggernaut they once were. Ravens by 10.

Re: AFC Wild Card Game
Patriots are one of two teams to go undefeated at home this season (Minn is the other), Brady/Bellichick have never lost a home playoff game and are 14-3 lifetime as a duo in the playoffs. Thoses numbers don't really mean much of anything but I'll take my chances with the Patriots @ home Sunday. 23-13.
The following week at San Diego, NE's season ends though

O - Line went 4 games without allowing a sack to end the season. Might have been 5 games, actually.SharkOnLand wrote:I don't think the Patriots' O-line can keep Brady off of his backside, even though the Ravens aren't the defensive juggernaut they once were. Ravens by 10.

Wasn't he sacked twice yesterday?drunkpirate66 wrote:O - Line went 4 games without allowing a sack to end the season. Re: AFC Wild Card Game
He was. I honestly didn't watch. The four games prior he wasn't sacked. That is why I said possibly 5. Either way, the Pats OFF - Line is doing its job now better then in September. Should get them a playoff win which is all I really expect from this year - regardless of Welker.SharkOnLand wrote:Wasn't he sacked twice yesterday?drunkpirate66 wrote:O - Line went 4 games without allowing a sack to end the season. I think Bellechick anticipated major holes in the defense and cut ties with Seymour knowing that with or without him their 3 - 4 wasn't going to hold up for four quarters in most games. Atleast this way they got 2 number 1 picks during what should be the first NFL Draft under the new rookie cap . . . smart move; over all.
This Pats team is not a Super Bowl contender. They could surprise. But, really . . . a playoff win is outstanding considering the loss Rodney Harrison (their BIGGEST loss), Seymour, Vrabel, Bruschi, and a couple decent WRs and RBs. AND considering their QB missed a season and has, reportedly, been playing with 3 fractured ribs for a month AND that All World Nose Tackle Vince Wilfork has been out. That is some amazing team management. I think.

Wow. That almost sounds like you're looking for a "moral" victory, since hopefully you won't get an "actual" one.drunkpirate66 wrote:

Re: AFC Wild Card Game
I follow the Ravens (I lost my "rabid fan" status for any Baltimore football team when the Colts left town......) and as a casual observer here's my take on today's game with the Pats:
> The Ravens will implode with their usual penalties at the worst times;
> Flacco has digressed in his 2nd season as a pro QB (any rush and he goes down);
> Ravens have no pass rush without blitzing (and when they blitz they still can't sack anyone and the weak secondary gets exposed even more);
> Ravens have never beaten NE in franchise history and this season they did not beat any team (other than a squeaker with San Diego in Week 3) that posted a winning record. They even struggled against Oakland this week just to qualify for the playoffs.
Even without Walker, Brady will be untouched and torch the Ravens secondary all afternoon.
