I agree that killing seems a bit extreme. OTOH, keeping him away from potential victims would be a goodness.

I find it odd that the charges against him are "interfering with transit operations and third-degree robbery." Why not assault?

well.. the way I am thinking.. first.. when I had a ponytail if I had caught him
cutting it.. he probably would have caught the scissors in the throat.
not only are these women questioning their safety in public..
so are others..
also he snuck into peoples houses.. and did things..

Let's keep the capital punishment for capital crimes. I mean — you seriously want to execute someone for cutting hair, or even breaking-and-entry? So what sort of penalty do you hand out for a serial killer like the DC area sniper?
The punishment needs to fit the offense.

That dadgum line of thinking has gotten how many police officers killed here in the US the past 6 months. Hell up here we've had 6 officers killed since 10-31-09. No wait - that's 7 one was killed on the other side of the state this past weekend. Criminals know the majority of states don't actually use the death penalty - if they even have one. It's way past time we quit giving these scumbags 3 hots and a cot.

Bill I feel that if someone enters my personal space (home,Car or assault)
they should be put to death..
I don't care if they are meaning to hurt me or mine or just steal from me..
IMHO if we dumped a few of these people the crime rate would drop..
people would feel safe and downtowns would thrive all across America


BTW when I was younger my family was victim of a Home Invasion Robbery..
my bedroom door was closed.. but to know that
"They" had been in there (and seen pics of the Family)
makes me very hard line against crimes like this.. the line
is drawn from home to self..

Camera caught burglary and deadly shooting at Perry County beer distributor

A surveillance camera inside a Perry County beer distributor recorded the break-in Saturday night and images of the owner shooting and killing one of the intruders, moments after an accomplice is shown starting to leave the building, District Attorney Charles Chenot said.

“It’s a very good quality video that shows just about everything that went on inside the building,” Chenot said.

The video shows Amy Sue Turner, 26, of Turner Lane, Carroll Township, and Jeffery Thomas Harless, 26, of New Bloomfield, entering the building and seeming startled when they realized the owner, Andy Slike, had entered the building just before 10 p.m., Chenot said.

While the video has no sound, Chenot said it shows Harless attempting to hide as Turner leaves the building, as well as Slike taking a step back after realizing that someone was in the building.

Moments later, Harless is seen raising an object over his head and lunging at Slike. Slike then fires a bullet from a 9 mm pistol, striking Harless in the chest and killing him.

State police said a hammer was found near Harless.

Chenot said he still has not officially ruled if the shooting was justified and if Turner will be charged with felony homicide for the break-in that led to Harless’ death.

Slike told state police he entered the building after receiving a call from an alarm company that a silent alarm had been tripped.

Chenot said investigators are trying to determine why Slike entered the building instead of waiting for the police.

Turner has been charged with burglary, conspiracy and criminal mischief. She has been jailed on $25,000 bail.
