Thanks for the heads up. I now have the last two weekends in April and the first three weekends in May reserved between Comfort Suits and Holiday Inn Express. Now I need dates so I can relax.

I LOVE this group! I am sitting here in cold and wet Tulsa, listening to Jimmy and dreaming about Frisco. I get onto BN to see if the concert dates have been announced yet and I find 8 pages already for FFF4! Wow!

If the concert is in April, I'll have to come alone. Tony will be at sea until late April. Y'all will look after me, won't you? [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Tony and I were under TulsaParrotheads last year. We have changed our island names to Cosmic Shipwreck (Tony) and Phreckled Phruitcake (Tamra).

I'm looking forward to seeing all of you and Jimmy again in April or May.

BTW, BigDaddy's brisket tacos ROCK!

Just went to the Choice Hotels site and the Comfort Inn at PHP has $200+ rates for all weekends in May except the 2nd and last weekends. The 1st weekend has a cancellation date of day of check in. The 3rd and 4th weekends have March cancellation dates.

I'm totally confused now. I'm still going with my original prediction of April 24th. Middle of May has to great a chance of being 90+ outside.

Went to the Texas Stadium show a few years back. It was Memorial weekend and it was about 100 degrees outside, literally. And there was no air moving in the stadium. It was miserable.

I agree the Texas Stadium show was a killer. I had floor seats. The sun beat down on me I was dying. I moved up to the nose bleed section. Much better but still hot as Hello.
What we gave each other ain't exactly clear. Probably comes under the heading of Souviners.

I'll do what I can Grams. Be prepared for snow on Sunday into Monday. If you get down to the University of Tulsa, stop by the library and say "Hi".

My opinion about the Comfort Suites charging $230 rates durng most weekends of April or May................and having a ridiculous prepayment and cancellation policy.
They want to extract as much money as they can from us concert goers as possible, regardless if it is Jimmy, Kenny, or any other artist.
However, they are losing sight of one important factor......by booking 3 of the 4 weekends of each month at the $239 rate for those dates that turn out to be nonconcert weekends, they will not get any regular travelers to make a reservation for their wrong speculative concert dates. They will all go somewhere else to stay. Long story short for those weekends that turn out to be nonconcert weekends, they will have almost no revenue, because of sky high advance rates they were charging.
I hope their plan backfires on them. We're at the Hamtpon...their rates are reasonable and only a 24 hour cancellation policy.

You know, I can handle a little rate increase but this is ridiculous. It may be convenient but I would love to see everyone boycott them. They only scr*w us if we bend over.

Went ahead and booked first 3 weekends in May at Holiday Inn Express. They also have decent rates and reasonable cancellation policy. Hoping Bubba knows Texas weather well enough to avoid late in May dates. Of course, in 2008, he kept saying it was May when it was April, so who knows.

Well, the General Manager from the Comfort Suites just called me and asked it I wanted to reserve two nights for the Buffett concert which is Sat., May 22 this year, not April. $229 per night with no cancelations or refunds. How do they know already? Not sure if we can make this one.
