To my knowledge, it is illegal to refill a liquor bottle, even if it is being refilled with the same liquor. The NV state liquor board might be interested in learning about this, if there was some verifiable evidence.
And if they are refilling it with something other than what it's labelled, they will MOST DEFINITELY be interested in hearing about this. -"BB"-
Why would NY state liquor board care what goes on in LV Nevada? They have no jurisdiction there.
Huh? Sweetie, you might need to clean your glasses. It says NV state liquor board.

When I was in grad school, I did several projects using the Margaritaville Cafe's as my "case study" material. At the time the Charleston store hadn't opened yet, so I went and did research in the market in downtown Charleston. A great majority of the people we interviewed said that while they considered themselves Jimmy Buffett fans and would shop at a Margaritaville store in Charleston, they would not eat at a Margaritaville Cafe. I wasn't surprised. I think Charleston is more of a place where you go to get a nice meal and that it doesn't have the bar-scene vibe that keeps the New Orleans one going (another place I think of as somewhere I would want to eat a nice meal).
That said, them conch fritters be mighty tasty! And I really enjoyed celebrating my 45th b/d ... (or my 22nd as my sis told the band's lead singer) in Orlando Thanksgiving week
I"m certainly no market analyst (having squeaked by in Economics 101) but it seems the M'Ville Cafes are all(?) in vacation destinations, even if it's a one-day vacation to a casino (e.g. Mohegan Sun). When I've been to various M'Ville Cafes it seems that the clientele is mostly visitors/tourists. Not an overwhelming number of locals. By that standard, it'd be kind of risky putting one in, say, Boston or Atlanta, where you'd be relying pretty heavily on local clientele to keep the doors open. Thus, MB rather than Charleston, Mohegan Sun rather than Hartford or Boston, etc.

Jimmy should have just kept them in the hot vacation spots downsouth. they will lose their luster very quickly. I mean come on what is "Buffett" about a canadian margaritaville. No offense to our canadian friends I love ya, but I wouldnt like the idea of a margaritaville michigan either.....unless it was on Mack Island or something

At first thought that was a great idea.....but upon further review......while I'd like it......Margaritaville is anti-M.I.
Sounds like Traverse City material to me!

The Doctor has the correct diagnosis. Mackinac Island is most definitely not Margaritaville territory. -"BB"-

Atlanta has one of the busiest Airports in America, and believe it or not gets a good deal of tourism since the 1996 Olympic Games.
Personally, my idea of Margaritaville has nothing to do with cold weather or casinos...M'ville is supposed to be a tropical escape....if it's located in a casino, or I have to wear a winter coat to it...it loses all appeal. To me it would be like asking me to eat my favorite meal off a dirty ashtray.
I've never set foot in one in a cold weather location, or a casino.....and come to think of it, I don't have any ambition to do so.

Agreed. I live in Charleston and as much as I'd like to see one her I'm not sure the local diners would keep it going. Maybe a smaller one would work. However we do have lots of tourists. Heck, who knows? The next time I see Jimmy I'll ask.
Every day you wake up you get another chance to do it right.

I was a bartender for 12 years in my previous life. I know all about this trick. Way illegal. I know the diff between Patron and swill also.
I simply will not ever go back in.
We the hard core, the parrotheads, can see where there would/could be too many of these places. However to the casual fan or even the person who really does not know who Jimmy is or what the music is...well they need a church in their neighborhood to give them a chance at salvation (don't act as though you can't draw the comparison).
Yes, I could see on in Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Think Baltimore would be a good location also.
I'm flying down to New Orleans for a couple days this week so will be visiting that location. I'm going to take some business associates with me one night. They haven't been to that location and was anxious to visit it.
After that it is off to Charleston for a meeting so will get to stop in at that Margaritaville as well. Am really looking forward to it. I'll let you all know what my experience at both locations are.
I used to think South Haven, MI would be a good place for one (two hour drive from Chicago). Then when I started seeing all the t-shirts and hearing the so called 'musicians' with their little drum machine etc singing really bad renditions of Margaritaville, I changed my mind. The town has its own charm so no need for something like a Margaritaville anyway. It would just screw it up.
Further up the coast would make more sense, in a much bigger port town, like Grand Haven. Can't see it anywhere north of there really. Then again, maybe not. Maybe nowhere near Lake Michigan at all!

Still think Traverse City would be the best Michigan Port of Call!

Just another BS money making tourist trap. All the power to him and the Margaritaville empire though. The places create jobs and provide locations for people to have a good time. I just want to know when he is going to really, really go for the MAJOR bucks and take his company public. Then he'll have conquered Duval, Bourbon and Wall Street.
