That's the Winn Dixie by my house which has went up on prices on beer but the Publix a few miles further it's six-something. 10 bucks for a six packs seems like robbery no matter what brand but they know I just gots to have it!!!ph4ever wrote:sonofabeach wrote:That looks gooooood!

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Nancy - it is their new seasonal beer that came out late last month and is supposed to be available until March. It's their first Dortmunder-style brew.
Ravi - I'm envious of YOU...you got some pretty good beer up there in Boston too!

Nice! I heard Jerry Jeff mention it in a song so being the impressionable guy I am I figure one day I'll have to try it.VanillaGrl wrote:Well, all y'all come on down to Texas... Beer Party at KK's!!!![]()

I just checked the beer specs for Shiner Frost on their site.
5.5 percent alcohol by volume.....that'll do just fine

Re: Shiner Frost
But why the umlaut over the 'O' in Frost? It's about as necessary (or correct) as the umlaut over the 'N' in "Spinal Tap"!
Coming from a brewery named "Spoetzl", people will know it's in the German style, even without the cute dots.

Guess I should have said 'Hoppy-er than what I usually drink'.spartan1979 wrote:Good? probably. Hoppy? I doubt it.VanillaGrl wrote:Mmm mmm mmmm... Hoppy!
This is hoppy:
"Shiner Fröst Dortmunder Style beer has the malt profile of a Helles, the hop character of a Pils, but is slightly stronger than both. First brewed in Dortmund, Germany for the hardworking coal miners of the town, this distinctive blend has something you might not expect– a touch of sweetness that quickly fades to a crisp hoppy flavor. Shiner Fröst uses Two-Row Malted Barley, Malted Wheat and Munich Malt for a full bodied flavor. Hallertau Tradition and Spalter Select Hops contribute to the noble aroma."
Would love to try the Mikkeller, though.
