Jimmy Croons
Please tell me that I am not the only female who melts into a great big puddle when she hears Jimmy sing "Pre-You." As a newbie to the PH nation I have been doing a lot of reading, listening and buying of albums. I had "Hot Water" playing in my car yesterday when "Pre-You" came on. OMG. It's not just the way Jimmy sings or the melody, it's the lyrics that are so beautiful. I especially love the line "She's so long ago, She's so yesterday." Guys, Valentine's Day is coming up. You might want to take a listen again.

I'm sure you're not the only one who feels that way.
It's a very good song from probably one of his most under-rated albums. (C.D.s for the under 25 folks).

Ok, I know this might seem like a ridiculous question, but I've seen people with things that say "official" member of PH Nation. There's no "official" club or whatever is there? Its just kinda like a figure of speech for all the parrottheads, right? Kinda like Red Sox nation.rmissbrook wrote:Please tell me that I am not the only female who melts into a great big puddle when she hears Jimmy sing "Pre-You." For some reason that song doesn't do anything for me but the last spoken line in Rhumba Man when his voice goes real deep and he says "and I'm.. still the man for you", kills me

Looking 4oph, Sorry if I've bothered you or anyone else. I didn't mean to. In the future, I will refrain from asking any questions that may be considered "stupid" or "dumb". Again, my apologies.looking4OPH wrote:Ok, clam up folks. No, there's no one big official club. There are sanctioned parrothead clubs but not all the member of "Parrothead Nation" necessarily belong to a sanctioned club.

Re: Jimmy Croons
That answers my question. I knew that there were the smaller clubs, I just didn't know if there was one large national club called "Parrotthead Nation".SchoolGirlHeart wrote:SK94, they're just funnin' with you!sailorkid94 wrote:Looking 4oph, Sorry if I've bothered you or anyone else. As for the "stupid/dumb" questions, i'm still kind of new here and still trying to get to know everyone and their sence of humor. Also, I just didn't want to get off on the wrong foot by annoying everyone. But I will stick around cause everyone seems nice!
And thanks, SchoolGirlHeart, for clearing this whole thing up. Guess I just took it the wrong way.

Welcome to BN! And yes, Parrothead Nation is very much like our Red Sox Nation.sailorkid94 wrote:That answers my question. I knew that there were the smaller clubs, I just didn't know if there was one large national club called "Parrotthead Nation".

Don't worry about p*** people off. Just remember, for every person you p*** off, someone else will say "Thank you."
But one thing to clear up. Red Sox Nation is not a figure of speech. You can actually join and become a member.

I have been playing the Hot Water album a lot lately. It is an underrated album. I love Pre-You, Prince of Tides, Bring Back the Magic, and Louisiana.
