Might not be in the right topic area, but since we've seen Jake Shimabukuro, Mac McAnally (with Fingers Taylor) and Peter Mayer at this great spot in recent years.......
Hate to see this happening, but Charlotte recently opened (with Live Nation managing) a new 2,000 seat theater (The Fillmore) and a 5,000 seat amphitheater downtown, so it's not surprising.
We have also seen Blues Traveler, Susan Tedeschi, and Robert Earl Keen at the Neighborhood.
It is an old movie theater, where they've knocked out the side wall. It only seats about 600 people, and all seating is first come, first serve. In fact, when the doors open, you tape your name to a seat, then walk out to dinner in the NODA district (Cabo Fish Taco is a favorite restaurant.
We were in the first row for Mac, second row for Jake (twice), and up close for Peter as well. After each concert, the musicians come out for autographs and pictures (and to sell T-Shirts and CD's).
We've enjoyed a few great nights with fellow BNer's at the theater
The Neighborhood offers just a great, intimate concert experience with reasonable ticket prices (no ticket fees) and a $4 24 ounce beer. I hope it survives in some way!
