Hey, guys. I need some help.

I just found out that WAR thought my pink hair at Big State in College Station was really funny. He evidently got a big kick out of it.

If any of ya'll have a photo from that Sunday ... or any photo when my hair was pink, would you post it ...

I'm going to interview WAR pretty soon and I want to be able to show him that day at Big State was not a one-time thing. I want him to know that I am REPRESENTING for all Northeast Texas Women and their cotton-candy hair!

The pink hair I can understand — sort of, but who or what is WAR? All I can think of is the post-Animals Eric Burden-fronted funk band that did "Spill the Wine", "Low Rider", "Cisco Kid", "Why Can't We Be Friends", and others.

Willis Alan Ramsey only released one album (the green album, we Northeast Texas Women like to call it) in 1972. Then, he went *poof* and vanished. His influence can be heard in almost every musician who's come up since then, especially Lyle Lovett, who once said, "When I grown up I want to BE Willis Alan Ramsey."

I can really think of no other Texas musician of that era - save Townes Van Zandt - that influenced his peers so much.

Guy Clark is a huge influence now, but he, too, was a fan of WAR and TVZ.

It seems, after all these years, that there is a chance for the second album, "Gentilly," is actually going to see the light of day.

That was the show where my pants went missing for a while and were later found in BAB's van. Bear & Glenn were there too. *sigh* good times.......
