A Question about Coffee and Chicory

I bought some pure ground chicory to add to my whole bean dark roast coffee, but the directions don't give a whole lot of detail on how to use it.
I read somewhere to use 2-3 tablespoons of chicory per cup of water, but I'm assuming that means when you brew it by itself.
How much should I add to my coffee? I normally use 1/2 cup of coffee and 3 cups of water in a french press. Should the chicory add to this amount or replace some of the coffee? I like a really strong, dark cup of coffee. The stronger the flavor, the better...
Anyone tried it?

I use a strong brew of chicory in a Cuban cocktail. It calls for four parts white rum, two parts lime juice, two parts chicory, and one part simple syrup, serve over crushed ice.
It sounds strange but it was oddly good. I started serving them to my patients. They said
Great chicory daiquiri, Doc!

Because I couldn't think of a good way to say it....
But, since you asked...If I use Chicory...I use HALF the amount of coffee I would normally use, and then HALF of that amount of Chicory....
I normally use 8 scoops for a pot of coffee , but use 4 if adding Chicory....and then add 2 of chicory.
It makes the coffee really smooth and a great pot of coffee...

We use about a tablespoon of chickory, plus the normal amount of coffee in a regular size french press.
