I thought it was odd that there were not fans down on the field.
I must be wishing on someone else's star....

I'd agree with those who said John Fogerty would be a good one. Of course, you gotta remember next year's going to be at the new Cowboy stadium. They'll have to find an appropriately Texanish performer.

Hmmmm..... ZZ Top? Waddyathink?

yeah, that'd good.. big ol' hat, bouncing around at midfield on the stage, cameras cranked to Hubble Level to get a glimpse of the little guy, Jerry Jones dictating, and then going out to walk the stage behind him because "it's my stadium"... woohoo.

I was a huge Who fan in the 70's and 80's. The performance was horrible. But really, Pete and Roger playing Who songs isn't the same as a real Who concert from the good old days. Keith Moon/Kenny Jones I liked them both but you can't replace the Ox.

My biggest issue was with the NFL and cBS. cBS blocks an ad for a dating site, the NFL gets bent out of shape over a talk show host with strong opinions being a minority owner in a franchise, yet they are OK with a performer that cruises the kiddie p*** on the interwebs....for research purposes

The Who $ucked this year, just as Bruce did last year.....both acts damaged their reputations IMO, as they both were wheezing along to the lines. The Who should've changed the line to their song to "Wish I'd died before I got old" and sung "My Generation".....sadly the last halftime show i remember enjoying was Prince's, and before that Aerosmith, with 'N Sync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige and Nelly but that was 10 years ago.

Also, don't expect to see ZZ Top next year, because they did a halftime show back in the 90's. A Texas band that I would love to see do next years show is Los Lonely Boys, but I don't think they're a big enough draw, so I think you'll see Kenny Chesney, George Straight, or even Garth Brooks, who's trying to make a comeback.

You mean the CSI theme song halftime show? Terrible, I thought. I kept waiting for David Caruso to show up in his sunglasses....

I really think you're onto something there, 'Dawg

100,000+ fans in Texas Stadium would be a walk in the park for the showman, Garth Brooks!
I'd look forward to that show!

For me it was because their vocals were so far off they were not in the state of Florida and because they couldn't even do a decent lip sync to their own pre-recorded meledy. [smilie=beadygrinner.gif]

Actually I'm kind of thinking it's time to stop all the hype over a half time. Just let the teams go into the locker rooms let the fans go to the concessions and bathrooms and then get everyone back and start the 2nd half.

Let's petition the NFL to change the Super Bowl halftime show from "musical act" to "interpretive dance" :pirate:

Being a die-hard Springsteen fan I will agree and disagree with you a little. I thought he did a good job of Bruce wrapping up the the feel of a 3 + hour show into 12 minutes. Plus 10th Ave freeze out. One of my favorites. What I didnt like about it was the commercialness of it. I wonder how much Jon Landau and Sony pushed him into doing this. And opening it with working on a dream and closing with the bantor between him and steve took something away from me. But other thatn that I enjoyed it.
