Spoke to a friend of mine on the Mansfield Police Department. He said that the rumors of the 3PM opening are true. I'm waiting to hear back about just how strict they are going to be on that. Otherwise there will obviously be cars lining up past Norton and Foxboro.
Only time will tell if it was time well spent....

Is it possible that they will open it up early. We are coming down from Maine and staying at the Red Roof Inn the night before. I was hoping to get the full GW experience for a JB show. I am certainly in favor of waking up early, and getting in line in hopes that they will open it up early. I remember the uproar a few years ago when Comcast said there was going to be no tailgating at all. Obviously, that new rule didn't last long. I am hoping the 3pm opening time changes as well.

It's always possible. Based on experience, they have always opened up earlier than the stated time for Buffett shows. My theory is that they are trying to not jam up the local roads really early in the morning so they say 3 PM.tigzoe wrote:Is it possible that they will open it up early. If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

i don't think it has anything to do with jamming up the roads.....more keeping the drunks in the lot to a minimal....by letting others think that lots open at 3!!!....aeroparrot wrote:It's always possible. That would be great! Since I stay at the RR for every concert I go to, I know right where the Shaw's is.C-Dawg wrote:Welcome to Buffettnews! I bought a little grill and everything that goes with it, plus a bigger cooler just for this concert, they better let us in earlier. BTW, love Sea Dog Ale, but Gritty's Vacationland is my fav. Followed by Hibernator from Long Trail as a close second.

Not sure if thats a smart idea anyway....If we have 5 hours to kill are we going to hang out at the local bar or go to church?TommyBahama wrote:i don't think it has anything to do with jamming up the roads.....more keeping the drunks in the lot to a minimal....by letting others think that lots open at 3!!!....aeroparrot wrote:It's always possible. Yeah, I don't think they are thinking this through. It isn't like I am going to wake up early and go shopping. I would either be sitting in a bar or my hotel room and open a beer (or several) to kill time. I am hoping there will be a MOTM and this will change before next Thursday.gunthermoose wrote:Not sure if thats a smart idea anyway....If we have 5 hours to kill are we going to hang out at the local bar or go to church?TommyBahama wrote:i don't think it has anything to do with jamming up the roads.....more keeping the drunks in the lot to a minimal....by letting others think that lots open at 3!!!....aeroparrot wrote:It's always possible. We're staying at the Residence Inn, just up and across the street from you. There are a few of us BNers staying there. We're all getting in Wednesday evening, so there might be a pool party going on Wed night.tigzoe wrote:That would be great! Make sure you send a PM to Gunthermoose with your name and cell # so he adds you to the phone list he'll be sending out to everyone next week. We're also doing a BN buffet for both shows too, but not sure if it's too late to sign up for that....again, ask Dave (Gunthermoose) as he's the Ringmaster for this BN Big top Circus.....as for me, I'm Chris, just one of the clowns
