I've got a Beachcomber bumper sticker on my Wrangler, this year I need to get a T-shirt....how cool would it be if JBB or someone else just as cool was playing that Friday? Carol/Jon, if you know the BC management, you should tell them to book Club Trini or members of the CRB to play that Friday night....it's no further from the Comcast Center than Nadirah played last year.....and it's a way cooler venue!!!

If JB and co. play the Chicken Box which is a sh*thole* as much as they do I can't imagine why a couple songs at the Combah shouldn't happen.

*Its a fun sh*t hole . . . a place I was a regular at for many a year . . . but it is still a sh*thole.

Believe me, I've tried by sending them emails. I wish we could get the word to the Reefers.

They know it is there. Jimmy used to spend his summers right down the road . . . Paul McCartney played there one night . . . I would be money that Jimmy and/or the Reefers have played there is the past. I just think it is one of the once in a lifetime things.

One of the big issues with the Beachcomber is the distance from Boston... Long ride back when they have to work the next day....

And not sure why I'm reading this thread because if I don't find another job I'll be living a long, long way from GW by June.

107.2 miles. Part of the fun, to me, anyways is that Wellfleet is literally a tiny sandune in the middle of the ocean - 100 miles out from main land Massachusetts. The energy out there is amazing. There is a lot of water - deep water - and the swells of the waves with the 100 foot tall piles of sand without any commercial development (except for the Beachcomber) just makes it surreal.

I'm already in training for that walk up and down that HILL! :o
At least this year I know not to bring ANYTHING but essentials.

I still think we should do an "Opening Day Phlocking" even though it will likely still be sweatshirt weather.

Not necessarily true . . . I have been to the Combah in May - Early June many times and it has been balmy. The water is frigid (insert jok here, Popcorn) but its gets into the mid 70's with some nice south breezes.

That was kind of the point . . . 5,000 people saw it and roughly half took pics . . . we talked about it with a stranger in the bathroom in Maine last year . . . . not a big secret anymore . . . Pony Up, Popcorn.

Um......yah. :) Those Goombay Smash things are to die for and it was truly the best lobster roll I've ever had. I just wondered if any particular band was usually there or anything. And no, it's not like you NEED anything else.
