All this negativity about opening times and anti-tailgating is disturbing!
I though Great Woods was supposed to have the best parking lot on the tour!! ?? !!
Once upon a time it did.....
Hmmmm???? Does that mean "Camden" has moved into First place????
No way! Frisco! (Frisco, Texas, that is.)
GW is better than Frisco.
Frisco is good just way too spread out. Way to much walking around empty soccer fields trying to get from lot to lot.
But at least Frisco opens early.

Haven't done Frisco yet....maybe next year if the Comcast Ctr. doesn't change their ways.....but Bristow, VA has an awesome tailgate and opened early!!! Tam, Larry, Randy, Traci and I were invaders from the north last year and they showed us a GREAT TIME!!! I'd definitely consoder doing that trip again!

Tracy and Randy are going with me again this year (hint hint!). Think they are bringing the trailer too which has plenty of room (hint hint)... but I'll let Randy twist your arm at GW this week! heheheh....

We (the NHPHC) is taking donations at both shows for the Gulf Oil Spill....
Hi Everyone!
The NHPHC will be responding to the current oil spill crisis in the Gulf of Mexico in a couple of ways and we ask and encourage all of our fellow Parrot Head Clubs in the region to help us or seek your own way to support wildlife rescue efforts currently underway or soon to be because of this unfortunate circumstance.
We looked at numerous organizations and decided to send a monetary donation to the Wildlife Sanctuary of North West Florida to assist them with their rescue and housing efforts of birds/animals affected by the oil spill.
The other way we are going to help is to collect new or gently used baby blankets and cloth towels(any size) or heating pads (preferrably without automatic shutoffs) and send them to the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge to assist in their wildlife rescue efforts.
So why am I telling you all this? Because, we would like to make this donation on behalf of the entire New England/North East Parrot Head Club community and therefore we are encouraging all of our PHRIENDS to bring items mentioned above to the NHPHC tailgate prior to both concerts this year. The NHPHC plans on picking up the shipping costs but we obviously understand that by extending this request out to the entire PH community that we stand to collect a numerous amount of donations, so....that being said, if anyone would like to add $1 or more to their item donations to help us with the shipping costs that would be greatly appreciated. If we find shipping costs are not as expensive as we think then any monies collected and not needed would be added to the donation sent to the Wildlife Sanctuary of NW Florida.
The NHPHC would like to thank you in advance and we'll be sure to post the results of the collections as soon as we can.
Regards and See Ya Real Soon!

I'm not questioning the times, but why is it they have no info on the event...including lot openings? They might want to communicate the times to avoid 10,000 people driving around Mansfield for 2 hours...
Regardless, we will be arriving at 10:30/11:00 with a full RV. If we're in we're in if not we'll go check in at the Residence Inn...Either way the drinks will be flowing when we hit the road at 8:00am (except for the designated driver of course).
That is the $10,000 question, for the Gillette show they did much more to get the word out.
It seems some people got emails and some didn't. I did not get an email. The people here know about the times, the PH clubs know about the times which is maybe 500 people. It is going to be interesting to see what happens Thursday.
Weren't gates open earlier for the Gillette shows? I remember them saying one thing and then posts here saying people were in early.
Yes. They opened the gates much earlier that they said they would.
I feel like every GW show, they end of flexing on the time. When you have that many cars lined up that early, it becomes a safety issue to leave them out on the road. I'm also highly skeptical of the rumors that police will be circling hotel parking lots looking for groups getting ready... they'll have better things to do.
"I need to start growing up," I thought to myself the other day, as I sat in my pillow fort.
At some point tonight 2 parking lot attendants and their supervisor were walking by us, I pulled them aside and asked they what time they were scheduled to work Saturday - the supervisor smiled and said "we have a 9am call time, all hands on deck by 9am". I said does that mean the lots will be open by 10am instead of noon and he gave me a rye grin and said he can't confirm anything while nodding his head up and down... one of the other attendants said they are not having us come in that early for nothing.
So take it for what is worth, the lots opened today around 1pm, 2 hours earlier than the posted time..

You should be okay at will call if you bring your confirmation email, confirmation number, and the credit card you used to pay for the ticket.

I know, I know... I've done this several times before.... I just wish they'd realize how long the mail can take.... and how annoyed I get!
(of course there was that one time I had the paper ticket months and months in advance and while I was away for a few days my dear hubby "tidied" it away! )

That's why I like Ticketfast emailed tickets. If I put them in that NICE SAFE PLACE I can always print them again....

In just about 25 or so hours from now we will be tying to fineagle ourselves into and early check in for our room at the Foxboro Residence Inn. If not, it's not big deal. We expect to be at the lot by about noon.
recover day, then off to the lot around 11am
great show last night, congratulations to slice, though he better not wear that Laker's shirt again. We are getting much too used to being in the front have to slum it back in P tomorrow
Hope you liked your seat Jen
In case anyone missed it, a Mass State Trooper was killed by an allegedly drunk driver on I-95 near Mansfield Thursday night. While at first glance it doesn't look like the driver was likely to have been coming from the show, I'm sure the tolerance for impaired driving will be absolute zero after Saturday's show. Please be smart and don't drive drunk...

Best news i've heard all week. That means I'll be in the lot in less....than....24....hours!
Today will not be a productive day at work.
