Under whose authority do you have the right to judge anyone's morals?

Oh most definitely not. I just think you should put a coat on a person, do another service to help someone, or keep the money for yourself (go on a shopping spree, I don't really care) just spend the money on a person because, yes, people are more important than animals, and I know that bothers alot of people, but its the truth.

DAMNIT BITS!!! I'm hungry now   You sound like Don. And every time 75lb Bailey JUMPS on him while he's in the recliner and pins him down and gives him kisses I remind him that a little dog wouldn't be able to do that. I'll readily admit I'm a dog person - big, small, theres only a few breeds I really don't like.

Wow! Morally wrong to spend one's own money how they choose? I know many people who think it is morally reprehensible that there are starving people on earth while other’s spend so much on tailgate food. I know people who think it is morally reprehensible that some people spend their money on boat drinks while many people in the world do not have drinking water. I know people who think it is morally reprehensible that some people spend their money on tropical play clothes, grass skirts… while so many on earth do not have the basic clothes. I know people who think it is morally reprehensible to spend money on wasteful travel to see a concert while so many people on earth do not have a home. I know people who think it is morally reprehensible to spend so much money trying to live out the words to an artist’s songs while others have no chance of a comfortable life.

Good thing we have freedom of choice (more than just a womb issue) to spend the money we earn on the things others find wasteful and frivolous but have importance in our personal lives. If not who do we appoint to define OK and/or moral? I sure hope it isn’t someone who finds Parrothead life frivolous, unfair, and wasteful.

The lady obviously went on a shopping spree and bought exactly what she wanted - a coat for her dog.

How do you know that the lady whose dog has the burberry coat doesn't do a lot of charitable works or contributions? IMHO one can't start a social commentary discussion regarding what people need vs a dog when you don't know the whole story.
I see your point,(and I know some people might see this as just plain wrong) but I think that before we do anything to help ANIMALS we should make sure all PEOPLE have what they need to survive. Its just wrong to put a coat on a dog instead of a person.
OK gloves off..
sooo if I get this right given your "Morals" I should
stop my Buffett trips, my travels.. forget about that
new Rig I have been saving up for.. (drive my 22 year old truck for a while more)
and give this money to those others who do not work??
in a few words.. F$%k you you little F#$k

let's go there for a minute little one...
do you own a car?? live within 5 miles of work?? if so sell it
quit going to concerts.. do you have a Wii? playstation??
Cell phone?? Crackberry?? are you willing to sell these and give the money up?? WAIT... didn't you just buy a sailboat??
you don't need that sell it.. give the money away to those "who need"
how much money do you spend eating out?? start buying
clothes just for function.. plain slacks/jeans.. only shirts on sale
Ties?? thrift store!!!!!!!

I work OT like a dog for my fun ticket money.. (about 10 hours a week)
you?? also I gave over 2500$ last year to Charitys (not including my hair) You???

I'll give up mine.... if you give up yours....

This lady is lucky that the dog wasn't stolen as well. :o

It will probably surprise no one that I believe that animals should be helped at the same time as people (not only after all human needs are satisfied). Most people have resources and options open to them...thousands of animals do not. I do a lot with charities for both people and animals, but the animals have a very special place in my heart, as do people who care enough to take care of the helpless victims of circumstance that many animals have become lately.

So SK94 you feel it would be better to go on a shopping spree for yourself than spoil a beloved pet or support a pet charity? You would hate to see the way my cats live  Right now two of them are sleeping in heated bed in the bay window with a floor to ceiling cat tree right next to them. My rescued stray Domino is asleep on a rug in a plastic dish pan because that is her favorite. I hand knit cat toys for them and I love them with all my heart. I hope some day you have the joy of loving a pet that much...the return on love often beats that of other humans.

Oh and Bill? Many terriers would take on any of those dogs you posted pictures of. I've never seen a dog with more courage and willingness to scrap than my friend's Yorkie. Most terriers know no fear. :P
