I am now thinking about whether to make a road trip to Houston...It has been a while since I have been to Texas. That is a long drive from Charlotte though.

Drove from Sunset Beach, NC back to Houston this summer with the family. It was about 18 hours driving.

Remember the woodlands doesn't allow tailgating but there is always an event put on to attend.

May 20th will be my 39th birthday and I have never been to Texas before.... i have seen Jimmy at Alpine Valley 12 times and I would LOVE to see him on my birthday- anyone got any reccomendations on a hotel to stay at that is close to the venue.... and any other tips that might be helpful... thank you so much- Phins Up~

i would check for any hotel in the woodlands. they should all be pretty close to the pavillion. someone else may be able to give you some names.

as mentioned before, there wont be any parking lot tailgating, but there is a pretty nice shopping center called market street that hosted the last pre-concert party before the show 2 years ago.

also, note that the woodlands is about 30 minutes north of houston. bush intercontinental airport will be your best bet (as it is also on the north side of town).

hobby airport is the other airport in town, but it is south of downtown.
