From the Houston Parrothead Club site: NO Sharkstock:

For those of you familiar with Kelly McGuire's song, "Blame it on Buffett," the title now hits really close to home for all of us here at Sharkstock. Within the last two days, Buffett has announced two upcoming shows that would have a major impact on Sharkstock this year - Houston on May 20th & Frisco on May 22nd, the same day as our main event was scheduled.

While Sharkstock is a great, fun Parrot Head event, we are not yet ready to take on a major concert by Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band and the infamous Frisco Parking Lot Party. So, Sharkstock 2010 will be rescheduled to accommodate the upcoming Dallas concert. Currently we are looking at late August / early September. We will be sure to get the new dates out as soon as we can get them secured.

We will contact everyone that has already registered and give them the option to use their registration on the new date, or for those that have registered and will not be able to attend on the new dates, your registration fee will be refunded promptly.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that this situation has caused, but we will re-focus our efforts to come up with an even better event later this year!

Hey all! This Ohio girl is coming down to Texas for the Houston show...can't wait! Looking forward to meeting some of you down there!

I will be visiting my friend who lives in San Antonio and we will be driving to the Woodlands on the day of the concert and will be staying the night in the area. Anyone have any suggestions on where to stay that is close to the venue? Any advice would be appreciated.

The Hilton Garden Inn is pretty nice and only about 1/2 a mile from the pavillion.

there is a marriott right next to the pavillion but i'm sure the prices are off the hook right now.

any of the hotels close to the mall are close to the pavillion....

I will definitely be hunting you down! I remember when I met you in Cincinatti you told me I had to come to a concert in Texas sometime...well, Texas, here I come!

Hey, Stacie, we are staying at the cheapo La Quinta which is near enough (about a mile)...because it's cheap. We'll just have to drive to the Woodland's Mall parking lot. I've never stayed anywhere out there.

Are you also going up to Frisco for that weekend too?

I am GETTING verrrry EXCITED NOW !!!..just got back from the 2 flordia shows!..THEY were GREAT!..NEVER been to this VENUE. IT LOOKS like ANY SEAT is a GOOD one! HOPE to SEE Lots of you GUYS out there!...PLEASE let me know where the PRE PARTY is SINCE there is NO TAIL-GATING?.....FINS up !

I'm not going up to Frisco because I'm heading back to San Antonio with my friend the day after the Houston show.

IS the drive pretty EASY from HOUSTON airport to WOODLANDS???..ALSO , I will stay in woodlands somewhere. IS it a easy street drive to the venue. I LIKE to have a my BOOEYS marked ahead of time for a easy SAFE ride back to the Hotel

Which airport? Makes a big difference. IAH is up North, Hobby is south of downtown. Traffic on the North Freeway is usually bad.

FLYING into DALLAS on the 19th .THEN DRIVING to Houston!..then driving back for the frisco SHOW!..JUST was wondering about the side streets in woodlands . To and from the venue from a woodlands hotel..LIKE to be safe !

The Buffett Concert preparty on May 20 has been announced. Hannas Reef with Jerry Diaz will be playing at Papa's Ice House (314 Pruitt Rd Spring, TX 77380) in the Woodlands from around 2:30 until 6:30 pm. The Buffett Concert starts at 8pm. The preparty is always in integral part of the Buffett Concert experience.

THE ICE-HOUSE BAR pre-PARTY is right OFF the FREEWAY. I talked to a girl at the ICE HOUSE, She said CYTHNIA PAVILLION is 3 EXITS away from the bar . I told her we would be leaving around 6:30 and SHE said NO WORRIERS about TRAFFIC....Just 10 minutes away !

Looks like the wife & I are heading to Houston . We are going to fly in to Dallas Thursday morning drive down to Houston for the show & head back up to Frisco Friday for the festivities there .
Looking to stay in Conroe Thursday night, is this a descent area?
