The BEST Buffert concert we've ever been to (we haven't been to many but still the best). It was great meeting up with everyone at the Crowne Plaza and although we got separated from the caravan by the Camden police (who told us they didn't care we were with a group, just turn into the parking lot on the right, NOW), we pitched out canopy on a nice patch of grass near the water and enjoyed the breeze and great music from the "DJ's" next ot us. Glad to have found many of the BN'ers when we strolled into the next parking lot. Can I please have the recipe for the pineapple chicken---fantastic!!!!!
I spent most of "Fruitcakes" looking for security to get a medic to care for the young woman in front of us who passed out (they got there quickly). We became concerned when she slumped over in her seat and Scott tried to revive her. She was breathing but not responding. Her boyfriend had left his seat a few minutes before this happened. She was revived but needed to be helped out. We don't know what happened to her. A few seats down from her another woman looked like she was about to pass out. She left after intermission. The guy behind me didn't look too great either and sat with his head in his hands towards the end of the concert. Alcohol + heat = bad.
Got back to the hotel around midnight only to find there was not a parking space to be had (there was a huge party going on) but the hotel allowed us to park in the employee lot but not before a cop lectured us to make sure we found a spot, not park by the curb etc or we would be towed. What's with the cops around here? Are they all cranky? We found the last spot.
Now recovering in our hotel room and trying to decide if we want to search for tickets to the Mets/Phillies game this afternoon. How's the view from the Terrace deck at CBP?
Thanks again.it was fun!

There is not a bad seat at CBP, it's a beautiful stadium. Enjoy the game.

We got herded into a parking lot at the North End. It was surrounded by Intermodal containers and had a wonderful view of what appeared to be a big scrap metal pile. The people around us were great and we did have a lot of fun 'gating. There were two port-a-pottys set up in the parking lot and I'm told they didn't have any TP.....fortunately for Lyvia, we'd brought our own.
The show was typically phenomenal and I'll probably have a sore throat for a month from singing along.
When the show ended, following Jimmy's touching BP adaptation of "When the Coast is Clear" (anybody got the lyrics to that? I'd love to sing those lyrics when I play the song on my guitar) we got to our car and sat dead in the water for almost an hour....then the late night tour of Scenic Camden
(seem to be a lot of girls standing around on street corners in the wee hours of the morning....wuddup widat?
). Finally go home about 115.
Lyvia's daughter had reserved a hotel room but when she got there, the hotel had given the room to somebody else. She'll be calling later so I'll get the details then.

We were in the lots with a nice view of the Ben Franklin Bridge - yes port-a-johns were a bit slim but not too much of a problem for our group. Got home about 1:30 without too much trouble. Regarding parking...my issue wasn't with the Camden police...they handled themselves appropriately. I had more issue with the parking lot attendants...no need to "F" bomb me because I'm switching a lane to follow a few cars I wanted to stay with
First - a big thank you to all of those who put time and effort into organizing the day.
Second - it was nice meeting all you
Great show, great people, great time

It was great getting to meet a bunch of you!!
The heat - whew. Not horrible, it's been way worse at Camden, but the sun really took it out of you. The guy in the seat next to me was totally wasted. I finally realized he thought I was with him. At the end of the show he's like, "Come on, let's go!" Um, no...
One extremely drunk woman (40s? 50s? waaaayyyyyy to old for this behavior) bent over like maybe she was going to pass out. Her boob escape her skimpy little halter top (another thing; if you're obese, skip the halter top

) and then she decided she had to leave so she wandered on up the aisle, boob bouncing loose. Before security escorted her out she HAD been in the 3rd row....
Yes, alcohol + heat = bad
But as far as the show went.... OMG..... great set list, great show and all that, but Jimmy closing with the Gulf Version of When the Coast is Clear? OMG......... When I got back to the hotel I noticed my mascara seemed to have migrated all down my cheeks... Wonder how that happened??

Well am back from Camden and it was a tents down tents up tensts down or a $500.00 fine ..... then tents up again and they were allowed to stay up. SOme of the cops realy felt bad in the beginning telling everyone to take the tents down.
We also had a great time yesterday and were one of the courageous to challenge the tent ban at Camden yesterday and now we understand why they might not want them. Ours was one of the two which took a spin in the air about 200 feet high and then just fell to the ground. It is a good thing no one was hurt or worse. BTW, if anyone has a picture of that flying canopy I would love to have it. I never saw anything like that in my life. Silly thing was that we had weights for it but didn't need them since it was so calm. Then a nice breeze came through and everyone said how nice it was. Next thing you know is the canopy is like 25 feet up and just going higher

.

Regarding are canopy...no problem with the police BUT it did break and isn't fixable. We left it folded up next to the car with the intention of taking it home - but someone stole it during the show. Thank you...you LUCKY buggers who now have a broken canopy...what a deal
Did anyone see that car fire? It was in the center of the lot between the large BN group and the grass area/river where Tam put up the deck. Any idea what happened?

Hey everybody. Just got home from a eventfull day in Camden. I will post more later.
Just wanted to thank everybody for yesterday. As soom of you know we had to leave early. Amanda spained her ankle and was taken to the EMS at the Susquehanna Bank Ctr. We saw the first half of the concert but then we had to leave. A side from a bruised ego she is doing fine and the swelling has gone. No worries Di and I have ticket for Tuesday. Have fun at the Hangover Party! See you Tuesday.
Kudos to the emergency staff at Susquehanna Bank Ctr !!!! You can't beleive the things we saw. I will never look at one of those "emergency" workers the same again. They deal with some unbeleivable stuff!!!!
To Be Continued.....

I've been on BN for a few years now and don't post that much but I need to post a few things about our experience last night. First the positive...
I must agree with the others who posted about last night's show....FANTASTIC!! It was a close 2nd next to my favorite concert, The Tiki Time Tour. What year was that?...2001, 2002?
We want to thank Blackjack for taking our many phone calls and helping us get into your lot. It was appreciated by our entire group. Now, the negative...
We were directed into an adjacent lot by a nasty witch who was apparently missing her broomstick. While I can appreciate parking cars, vans, buses & RV's could be no easy task, those parking attendants were rude, mouthy and, in my opinion, way outta control. Cars behind us were yelling at us thinking we were holding things up, but they wouldn't let us move. They instead waved in 4 or 5 busses before us. After handing over $100 to park our RV,...(back to positive)
we set up shop along a grassy area along the fence. All was well and the drama long forgotten. We were able to visit Tonga Tams Deck with many of my friends taking a ride on the slide! Thanks for the laughs!!!...(back to negative)
I am shocked year after year about how disgusting the lots are left when everyone packs up and heads out. We had over 20 people in our group and not one bottle, wrapper, or plastic cup was left on the ground. You would have never known we were there. The Delaware River will be on the receiving end of alot of the plastic bags, cups and other waste that was left behind...doesn't anybody care?
And, a word to the wise, we had 3 guys (a/k/a punks) that scoped out the crowd around us and appeared to make attempt or two to pick pocket. They actually surrounded one of our friends (a guy) who had an obvious wallet. Our friends wife saw them looking and gestering about her husband. With that, one of the guys (punks) tried to hug our friend and wanted a picture with him as he stood on the side where his wallet was. We had to push the guy away and tell him to back off. We warned people around us and tried to find security but before you knew it, they were long gone.
I'm sorry for throwing some negative vibes out there. All in all it was a phantastic day!!! I hope everyone made it home or to their hotel safe and sound.

Great concert but yes the heat was bad a poor girl passed out from heat exhaustion next to us but luckily the medics were called and arrived quickly to rush her to the hospital as she fell on her face. Some other Parrotheads took care of her.
Who was the family that was brought on stage?
I will be there again on Tues and hopefully will be able to meet up with some of you guys.

That was our friend Kim.... she's okay, but 12 stitches in bottom lip and 3 in upper lip and chipped her tooth and may have injured her hand, very sore and swollen today.... Thank god she is okay.
If you would have walked straight ahead in the next lot #11 you would have ran into a lot of the BNer's.
Had a fantastic day yesterday, the heat was a bit much... seriously. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new friends... Great concert, but Doc and I had to split up inside the show...

Thanks BlackJack and MaryKay for all your hard work with the tailgate and planning. Sorry, we are laying low today, the heat took a toll on me, too.
My regrets for the day...
1. Never gave Santa a hug (Wayne, I never saw you at the tailgate)
2. Never made it to BJ's and MaryKay's tent, I bet that food was yummy
3. Never said hi to Mick
4. Never had Jack sign his book
5. Never made it to Tonga Tam's deck
6. Never made it to Jimmy & Jimmy's and the Mango Men and DJ Jeff Allen
7. Never saw Jack (poconomon)
8. Never made it to the Spain's RV
9. Never made the BN photo at 3PM
Some of us get to do it all over again on Tuesday... maybe I can try again to fix some of this...
Just relaxing today, sorry Joe and MaryKay

Since it appear to be the accepted way to review the day I will start with the positives....
We are all alive!!! We arrive prior to the caravan and help Al secure parking spots for the caravan that arrived in spurts. We were located in the area of many BNers with whom we have partied with in the past. We met several people who I feel will be friends for good long time. We also met some non-BNers who I think may be logging on soon.
My big positive was the NES (EMS/medical staff) people. My step daughter sprained her ankle as well as suffered from some of the effects or sun&rum. They were super! Polite, kind, courteous, professional and funny. You never think about them until you need them. After what I saw last night I will never look at them the same again!!!! They do an incredible job dealing with every kind of medical emergency you can think of. As well as zillions of heat & alcohol related issues. I look forward to visiting them Tuesday to thank them again. The police were also very helpful when I was trying to locate the EMS station. Several officers also threw in comments like "I hope everything is ok". Nice to hear....
Due to the fac t that we had to leave early I can't really comment on the shows. I enjoyed what I saw but I'm a snob! After great seats at MSG & Boardwalk Hall (All shows) 2nd row at CBP and front row last year at SBC, lawn seats s***. Sorry once I enter the venue it's about the show and not the party. I'M SPOILED!!!!! That being said I need three seats for Tuesday!
The negatives...
I hate Camden !!!! If you don't like opening the parking lot's early because of the cost & "safety" issues then adapt. After countless concerts you have to know that certain bands are going to require more than the normal protocol for the average concert. Instead of p*** everybody off and refusing to open the lots till the city of Camden's roads are choked. Bring in extra people and open at 7 or 8. Charge more for the privilege of using the lot for twice as much time as regular concerts. I would rather pay $35 - $40 (even $50) and be able to drive in and set up. Allow people to buy an extra space. Most people are going to take it anyway! Have something that clips to you EZ up. If you don't display one than make people buy one. That would bring in lot's of extra money to pay personal. Do the math!!!
As far as the canopies (I hear several reasons from the police as to the reasoning. Something to do with sex in a tent. A TENT) At any rate require all canopies to be at the front edge of the parking spot or in front of your vehicle so that officers patrolling can see in. It's ridiculous to ban them in a parking lot that regularly sees heat indexes in excess of 100 degrees. And I did not see any officers worrying about people getting raped or having sex in the mobile homes!!!
All in all I would rather go to CBP. The venue is not as good but they are equipped to deal with the massive tailgate that Buffett fans want. And let's face it the tailgating is at least 50% of the reason we
go! Plus CBP has fireworks !

LOST AND FOUND
ALMOST FORGOT - When we took the group photo I set my camera case down on the deck. It's a hard blue Panasonic case with a skull and cross bones strap. Did anybody find it????? I've had for a while and I miss it already.

My camera is doomed with out it......

I am glad she is ok. We saw her at the end of the show in the car but didn't want to be rude and ask. We did see some BN'ers come over after the incident and two that were parked on the other side of us in a black F150, before the show.
We did wander around a bit and probably walked right past a lot of you BN'ers. Oh well I will be there on Tues as well but might have a hookup to a lot right next to the marina ... no tailgating but can bring my stuff to meet up with friends.
