Alright gang, we are getting close. Had our opening season bash weekend and people are definitely ready for Alpine to be here!
Quick updates: -
- For those who have signed up for one of the Hemingway buses, someone should be calling in the next couple days to collect payment (32/person).
- Alpine has ONCE AGAIN sent out notice to my bus company that they will be sticking to the "no early entry" and "everyone must have a ticket policy" this year. Good frickiin luck Alpine:-) Anyhow, we have set up our recon team, they will be hanging outside Alpine beginning at 1130am and will let Hemingways know when they are starting to let cars/buses in to the parking lot.
For those who will be staging buses and cars at Hemingways Saturday morning, Mr. Myers will be providing pre-tailgate music on the pation for all to enjoy.
If you are staging, there will be parking personnel directing where to park buses and cars. We have 9 buses confirmed for staging and a bunch of groups and cars. Those who have asked to stage, please pm me to reconfirm asap. Please follow their directions as to where to park. As always, pre-tailgating not an issue, please use plastics as alot of us run around in bare feet and at least buy a couple drinks from the lovely bartenders and trweat them nicely, they will be up all weekend with limited sleep dealing with our clan:-)
The patio grill will be running with inexpensive sandwiches (burgers, dogs, brats, chicken) for those that need some protein nourishment to prepare for the day & night.
- The "we got alot to drink about" Friday night bash kicks off at 5pm. See webpage for more details
www.hemingwaysportofcall.com. Entertainment donation is 10 bucks, food (pig roast as usual) is 5 bucks. If the economy has truly affected you this year, no frets, no one will be turned away. The price has been cut to break-even this year. Frank Whiting will start the bash, followed by Mr. Myers, then South of Disorder and special guests, ending with Pirates Over 40 who will take us into the wee hours of the morning. Pig starts around 6ish and goes til its gone.
- For those who have been to Hemingways in the past, you know we limit entry by tickets (475). I am getting the Buffett News Tixs printed this week. For those of you who have not added to the "who's going" list, please do so I don't miss anyone. When you check in at the door to pay, let them know you are BNers and your screenname. We have presold 207 tixs thus far, we have 75 tixs currently for BNers. 35 for Margaritaville vips and 60 tixs for the band vips, this leaves about 100 tixs left. Last year we sold out 11 days before event. All reserved tixs (this counts all of you) will be made available to general public at 7pm Friday night, so make sure you get there before 7 or if you are arriving late, let me know through pm so we can hold your tixs.
- Ther are 6 spots left on the second bus (my bus). If you want in, pm me.
Will keep things updated as we get closer.
Fair winds and following seas:-)

We will try to be there by seven but we are staying at a place with a waterpark and we will be drinking so it could detain us for awhile. Might be fun to watch!!

Also happy for me and Cajun...now we have a designated driver to get us back and forth safely!

Incoming PM Steve...
Any other BNers out there want to caravan in with us from Hemingway's?
We have met up in the square in East Troy the past few years....but since CaptainP may not be going this year

staging there just wouldn't be the same without him.
Plus since we are staying in Lake Geneva- this will be closer to try to get to the morning after the shindig Friday night!
anyone?

Sounds like fun! I'll have to check with the others in our group to see what are plans are this year. We usually enjoy spending the morning at Wrigley Beach in Lake Geneva (weather permitting), then head over to Alpine early afternoon. I'll let you (and Steve) know A.S.A.P. Thanks!

Hey fellow Pirates!
We are from West-Central Iowa and coming (again) to Alpine. We always stay in Beloit Fri and Sat nights. Our daughter just graduated from law school in Chicago (finally she can make US some money) and would like to come to her 1st concert. Anybody coming north from Chicago Fri or Sat that could give her a lift? We could meet somewhere on the route if you aren't staying in Beloit!
Thanks for any info!
Jim

I'd highly recommend your daughter take the Van Galder Bus. The fare is only $25 from Chicago to South Beloit. I've taken Van Galder from Madison to Chicago several times. The busses are very nice and comfortable. Here's a link to their website:

I have a busload heading from Iowa City to the show. Given the rumored late entry (still don't think it will happen but don't want to spend two hours on the shoulder in the bus waiting in case it does) we were thinking about finding a bar somewhere around Janesville or Beloit that we could stop for lunch and drinky-treats before heading on. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!!

You can always stage at Hemingway's (its a nice island themed bar in Lake Geneva and the site of the pre-concert festivities)

Happens every year
I have 6 bus tickets available for one of the Hemingways buses.
This is my bus (Steve's) and will be departing Hemingways right after the caravan heads to the fabled grounds.
It is a byob but as always, I will be bringing margys, beer, water and munchies to pass around during our tailgating festivities.
Cost is 32/person. Either pm me or call Hemingways at 262-348-1200.
First come basis.
20 days and counting!
Steve

Newbys coming to Alpine Valley, coming from Michigan (couldn't get tickets here so coming to a new, hopefully fun place). We need some advise. 1. heard Alpine Valley is good to the parrotheads pre-concert partying, is that correct? 2. Suggested time of arrival? Here in Michigan it is 3pm. 3. I have done something I have never done before, not preplanned for a place to stay (family issues), so we are looking for a place to camp/RV...??? We will be arriving in our 24ft Class C motorhome. I spent today calling around for about 25-50 miles from Alpine Valley and no vacancies. Anyone have any suggestions? I do not want a place that won't let drinkers in, which has been a few of the places I crossed off my list, I want friendly people who will tolerate Parrotheads and I want Bailey's in my coffee.
Anyone with advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Sunshine Smile
