Despite changes in the "rules of engangement" every year (this year NO LiveNation sales, NO counter salees) I must say it was certainly lacking some of the drama and stress of years past. I welcomed the vision of pavillion seats popping up on my TM screen upon the first try after only a few minutes of waiting.
Sorry to hear about the folks who physically walked up to a counter only to find out too late that tickets were not available. I believe, however, it did help take a lot of pressure off of the system. TM and those connected may finally have reached a level of hardware and software upgrades to actually make the on-line experience work, even with all of us trying to get tickets at the same time.

And for those of us without credit cards?

I'll get tickets....not so worried about that.
I guess my biggest issue is that nobody knew. There were people all over the state and neighboring states standing in line. The people working the counters did not know. Some people called the TM desks and asked, and were told that they would be selling tickets. Maybe Pooj is right...they finally found something that works for most. Leave it to TM to F up, even when they get something right!!!

I was able to pull off section 103 row A for my parents over the phone through the automated system at approximately 10:20. I was shocked to get anything in the first section let alone that close. This is the first time ticketmaster hasn't made me mad.

CaptainP, can you not obtain a debit card linked directly to your bank account? In many cases it is as good as a credit card: it does not carry an annual fee, and incurs no finance charges since the money is taken directly from
(usually) your checking account.
That's what I have, and that's what I used last year to pull my tickets online.

I listened to the concert last night and it was just what I needed to get me out of the midwinter doldrums. He was in fine voice.

And here I was sweating it out trying to get tickets on Monday morning. It popped up and told me I had an 8 minute wait, then went all the way up and said 15 minutes or more. I was sure I was going to get shut out. I finally got in and got my 6 lawn and I was happy. Then I went back and looked yesterday afternoon and still could get 6. LOL Oh well, it will be a good time with friends I haven't seen in years.

***ROOMS IN LAKE GENEVA*** Rooms are going for over $200.00 a night already - I have a block of rooms for about $100 a night in town. I have a large group going on a bus, but need to fill the bus yet. The rooms will be offered to people wanting to take our bus first, then once our bus is filled, I will release any remaining rooms to BuffettNews people.
The bus ride is a charter bus with a bathroom on it, includes snacks (sandwiches, chips, something like that) and jello shots $40.00 a person. Pickup at the hotel around 11 or 11:30 a.m. - Don't Drink and Drive - Have fun and arrive safe!
(The bus is also doing a pick-up in Madison at the Park and Ride)
A few BNers can back me up on this as they went last year and several know Eric and I....
PM if interested in any of this Fins Up!

Thanks for the PM about the bus and rooms, Jolena, but we're going to stay up closer to Milwaukee since we're returning north the next day. We luckily have my son and one of our friends who doesn't drink as DD's. We'll keep you in mind in the future though - it sounds like fun.

Zac Brown & Dave Matthews at Alpine the week after Jimmy. I would need a month off to recover from back to back weekends. Would be a blast though.
