Who's going to Detroit on June 22nd?!

ditto! i can't make the pittsburgh show either and am looking for information on the detroit venue. haven't bought my tix yet so...in attempting to save money for the labor day weekend show, how is the view and the sound from the lawn? i'd appreciate hotel and tailgating information. would love to meet you in detroit.

My group and I usually go to Pittsburgh every year. But, my friend is pregnant and the Pittsburgh show is right around her due date. Soooo, we are probably going to do Detroit this year instead of Pittsburgh but I know nothing about the venue. What is it like? Any comparisons to other venues? Are there hotels/places to stay close to the venue? How early would those places need to be booked? What is the tailgating/parking lot experience like? Any other information you guys can give me would be great. Thanks and I hope to see some of you in Detroit in June!!!

The view and the sound is better than Nissan, it's a smaller venue...The front of the lawn would be pavilion at Nissan. Tailgating go to the Park and Ride the morning of the concert plenty of people there, but you will need to be prepared to move in a hurry once the venue opens and reestablish camp. Enjoy and make sure to come to the Grove at "The Lube"

We went to Pine Knob last year and I thought it was a really great venue. It is smaller than some so the seats we had were pretty good. There were lovely gardens, the bathrooms didn't have huge lines. The vendors were fun...actually came out to the seats to sell stuff. The place was clean.

The only other time I was there it poured and I didn't really see much of the place.

Both times Ihave been there I didn't get to spend much time in the lot, since we arrived pretty close to the show time.

Since the show is on a Tuesday, that will prolly be the same situation again. Tom will get out of work mid afternoon and we'll head on down. If we are really lucky, he won' t have a bunch of meetings and might get out at noon.

I'm really looking forward to this!

The venue itself does have an absolute ton of bathrooms. It's a beautiful sight!

The parking lot- well, that's a different story. I might have to invest in a camper potty since someone didn't bother to plan for one in their tailgate bus....

Due to the lack of bathrooms in the parking lot (and the massive amounts of alcohol consumed over the course of the day), I got lost in the woods after the show...I had to call our DD who had to come in the woods and find me. Who would have known that his mad Marco Polo skills would have actually came in handy?

Don't give up! We got pretty decent tickets on ticketmaster a couple of weeks before the concert last year.
