So............After last years show I kinda promised my jealous non-parrothead wife & a couple non-parrothead friends that I'd hang with them in the parking lot & not go into the show this year if they wanted. Of course what I didn't tell my wife was that if I did this I wanted to try & worm my way into a roadtrip elsewhere for a show. So now the cannons are about to fire.

So in answer to the question.

I will be there!! For either the party OR the show AND party!!

Ticketmaster willing, I will be there. With some non parrothead in tow. Either my hubby or one of my sisters.

Tom had a great time last year, so it shouldn't be too hard a sell. The venue is relatively close to us, easy in and out and a really pretty place to see a concert.

My group and I usually go to Pittsburgh every year. But, my friend is pregnant and the Pittsburgh show is right around her due date. Soooo, we are probably going to do Detroit this year instead of Pittsburgh but I know nothing about the venue. What is it like? Any comparisons to other venues? Are there hotels/places to stay close to the venue? How early would those places need to be booked? What is the tailgating/parking lot experience like? Any other information you guys can give me would be great. Thanks and I hope to see some of you in Detroit in June!!!

Yay!!!! I'm in, plus as many as the ticketmaster gods will allow! This news made last night's beach themed beer pong tournament even more phun (where the heck were you capn??)

I just gotta say, I would have totally lost a bet if anyone had asked if I thought there was a snowballs chance that we'd get graced with concerts 3 years in a row!

show's on a tuesday, which means we have all weekend to kidnap him if he even thinks of not making his way north!

IN My last day of work is the Friday before and the kids' last day of school is on the 22nd. Hmmm, Summerzcool will be in session

(now to get tickets and someone to get my kids off the bus. I think I'll be at the venue by then. Might even need to have someone get the kids ON the bus...prolly be in the park and ride by then )

Dear Landshark Girl: See Gumbo Pirate's post!!
My opinion regarding places to stay is the Auburn Hills area is the most convenient. Unless you want to hold out & see where the DPHC will be holding their Pre-Concert Party & locate closer to that.
My only non-Michigan experience was the Nati. You won't find the craziness of the Nati here at Pine Knob (mostly because you can't get into the lot until 1:00-2:00 pm) but the great thing is everybody & everything is in 1 lot so by getting there early enough you'll be able to survey THE WHOLE NINE YARDS! Also, if you want the whole experience you'll hear about "meeting at the Park N Ride". This will give you an AM Party fix & you'll be able to do a meet & greet with some of the Detroit Die-Hards (if you haven't already done that in the Nati)!

I'm considering Detroit. Had such a great time last year, especially the post-concert resting-up at Al & Diane's lakeside home. ( Anybody seen Al lately= OMiTT, or previously ALSEA...?)
But June.... hmmm..... will I be free by then?
Have to consult the crystal ball and the members of Parliament, too.

Great to see everyone is still here, when do tickets go on sale? Pre sale? Snow, you're not going to get to see the Woodward cruise this year, but we'll find some other cool stuff to do in late June.
