I'm trying to make it work but my priorities are MOTM and the Labor Day show and of course the 4 day extravaganza called Great Woods.
Besides you're not even SURE you'll be there.

got tickets dont want to post before and have that not work out hopefully this year i can be involved with the tailgate and not barely make it before the show

Question for those who have attended Buffett in Tampa: how is the lawn? How does it compare to the lawn seat at Lakewood (Atlanta)? Looking at the seating chart, it looks like a TINY lawn. I have the opportunity to get some lawn seats but I do not want to buy them if sitting on the lawn is terrible for viewing the show. Lawn seats in Atlanta are a freaking blast! I'm hoping it's similar in Tampa. Thanks!

Look at last years post as people were complaining about the lawn.

I haven't been to Tampa, but...........I think that the lawn is much larger than depicted on the chart. My boss has been for a couple of shows, one in the seating and one on the lawn. He told me that if your in the seating area it's good anywhere, but if your on the lawn it's much different. They have monitors so that you can see it , but the sound is horrible. He said he wouldn't go there again if he had to sit on the lawn.

I've been going since '95 and the Lauderdale show will be my first time NOT on the lawn because the wife has decided that we've graduated up from lawn people... i've got seats for this Tampa show, but i've been on the lawn at the Ford amphitheater a few times and it's about as good as it gets on the lawn.... Jimmy is as tiny as you'd expect on any lawn, but you're at a Buffett show and you've been partying all day so life is good.....

the key to the lawn is to get into the venue as soon as early as you can and bring a blanket to stake a claim right at the front of the lawn.... I used to do the lawn at Great Woods and everything you've heard about the parking lot there is absolutely true, it's the Super Bowl of Buffett tailgating..... it's a shame that the Labor Day tradition changed when a golf tournament rented out the parking lot one weekend and the dates had to shift that year and have never shifted back..... what REALLY sucked was the year that they put open air SEATS that ate up about half the lawn and cost at least twice the price.... now you were paying more money to sit right where you used to sit and still risk getting rained on.....

Looking forward to another trip to Tampa. Having hotels within staggering distance...........PRICELESS!!!

Greetings all. I am flying down from MD and meeting up with a fellow Parrothead from Sarasota. We are staying at the Crowne Plaza, but the at least have a free shuttle.

Is there an organized parking lot gathering for BNr's?

I've staying at the La Quinta across the street on Friday night and I think a bunch of other people are as well.... that would be the perfect meeting place to organize a phlock to follow each other in.... if anyone else is up for it let me know and i can help coordinate things... i'm off to Lauderdale tonight for the final session of Summerzcool.... i took today off to give my liver time to prepare for a well paced marathon tomorrow....

My buddy and I are thinking about driving down just for the lot since it's only a couple of hours away.

tickets are still available... why would you go for the parking lot, but not the show?!?!?

I dont know if anyone can help with this - the Tampa show is the last night of my four week stay in Florida. I fly home the next evening from Orlando. Anyone who has traveled with British Airways will know that you have to check in 24 hours before - to the minute - otherwise you get all the cr*p seats. Its not much fun for 9 hours at the best of times.

My questions is this - will anyone have access to the internet, at the tailgate, at 17.35pm - and would be prepared to let me use it to check in? Last time I was there with you guys, you seemed to have just about everything else.......

I guess my fall back position is to head over to the hotel and hopefully they will be able to help

Many people do it. That's where lots of good times have been had.
In fact I did the lot and not the show last year in Tampa although not by choice
I just tried to find 2 lawn tickets but couldn't.

Tickets may still be available, but MONEY is an issue too! Not everyone can buy tickets to every show.

We'll be tailgating, but no concert. Besides, we just did Orlando!
