I am happy to contribute to whatever the majority decide..... When you are coming over from the UK they tend to frown on bringing lots of tailgaiting kit....

I dont eat meat so will probably bring a 'packed lunch' just in case

Regarding the tailgate -hot dogs & burgers would be great as I am one of the people from out of town flying in that morning so bringing my own food would be a problem. This would be my first official BN tailgate usually just did a really tiny thing on our own.

Phil and I are definitely gonna be able to make this show and we'll have lots of tailgating stuff with us, along with a couple of virgins. Soooooo looking forward to it since we had to miss Columbia. Tampa tailgating is simply THE BEST! We'll be somewhere in the vacinity of "the trees" just as early as they allow us to beat the gates down.

Oh, and Adrain.....I still have a finely aged bottle of Tortolian rum for you......

I'm game for any of the options, BBQ costs normally come out to around $20-25 per person (including funds towards entertainment), so it's not cheap, and we typically need to get a decent size group to make it happen. Burgers & dogs can be done cheaply (guessing $10-12pp including funds toward entertainment). BYOF is easy, we'd only need to pool funds/donations for some entertainment.

Let me know your preference by next Sunday (March 14th) and I'll go with the majority. Has anyone started a contact/attendee list yet? If not, shoot me your info and I'll begin compiling.

I am about 75% sure I am coming down to the Tampa tailgate from Mobile... will know for sure in the next couple weeks. There will be two of us coming, and we can bring food or beverage, whichever is needed, just let me know.

With everything going on in the parking lot for the tailgate, it might just be a full blown circus. It looks like it starts around noon, so everyone should make sure we get there early.

OK, here's a preview of the day thus far. Right now we have Troy Allan from Texas booked to play the tailgate. Troy's received some great press in the trop-rock arena, and we're really looking forward to having him play for us during the tailgate. He'll be playing a bunch of Buffett tunes, rock covers, and some originals from 4-7, which is sure to be a great time. I've also chatted with John Patti, and he's available and Troy would love to have him involved as well. Bringing Patti in will depend highly on the number of attendees and money we can raise for entertainment.

I ran through the thread of all the posters and tried to identify those who planned on attending and those who are still on the fence. Please let me know if you need moved from yes to maybe, or vice-versa, or if you'll not be attending and I grabbed your name by accident.

If you will be coming, let me know how many in your group.

So far it looks like burgers/dogs are winning (we likely can have some tofurky dogs for some folks too). Depending on the number of attendees and if we go Troy only or Troy and John, I'll be able to figure out the costs. I'll also be giving the fairgrounds folks a call to see if they have any issue with a portapotty rental company bringing in a unit for our group.

still not sure what will happen...it's all going to depend on the $$$ situation when i get back from the cruise! unless i hit it big in the casi-NO this year! but i really want to be there!

Also, we will have a car, but plan on getting a shuttle from our hotel. Do you know if we would be able to get into the lot to drop stuff off and then leave to go back to the hotel?
