The challenge for fundraising this year:

I have had the beard since 1994, I doubt anyone remembers what I look like w/out it. If we raise $20,000 for the charities, the beard comes off. And as a further incentive: if we raise $30,000, I'll finish the road to bald, and shave my head too.

bring sunscreen. need it. :D
ok sweetie I got one for ya have a shot of Big Daddy's Habanero Tequila I got $50 for the charities ( sorry just had to do it)
Fair enough. It's about the charity. :)
I will have a cold beer standing by...thanks for being such a good sport

Any dairy product can ease the burn of capsaicin (that's what's in the peppers that causes the burn) with milk and butter being the top. Bread helps absorb the capsaicin and helps. When I'm eating mexican food and get hold of a pepper I can't tolerate I usually put butter on a flour tortilla. Lemon or lime also is good - I'll bite a wedge. I've also heard tomato juice works but never tried it.

Or you can just keep sluggin' back the stuff until you fry your tongue and short circuit your pain receptors. That will make it alllll better....at least until the next day and your morning constitutional! [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif] [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif] [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

Looking foward to it again this year. We've made it the last few years but didn't participate in FFF III and really missed it. So count us in for 4 from east texas (Tyler).

The DMN ad this morning said tickets are on sale on Feb. 22. Any word on pre-sales? In the past, pre-sale has been the week before, which is tomorrow. Odd, no passwords are going on for pre-sales..... :o

yeah, yeah.. it all starts in fun, then the last thing before the screaming, someone is curled up on the bathroom floor unable to sleep because liquid napalm inside is making any position other than inside out against the cool tile makes sleep other than sheer exhaustion impossible.

As to a possible charity - the families from ft. Hood could still use some help.
I think that is a GREAT idea!

I also think the Alzheimer's Association would be a good choice since there are quite a few of us directly affected by immediate family members who have it or have had it.

....and as to the charities, the Ft Hood idea is good; I go for the Alzheimers thingie, too. Dad succumbed to the disease (lewy body dementia) in Oct 2006 and Mom is still hanging on with increasingly evolving symptoms, hallucinations, dehydration, etc. Just save me a place at the nursin' home...

Both charity suggestions are great. I just would like to make sure something goes for heart care and research in honor of (and directly to, as well) one of our own! Vickster, your ears burning?
