Time to cut the apron strings....she's a big girl. Needs to learn some independence some time.

This is my third kid...so not my first time at the rodeo.....she's the most independent and mature of all of my keets. This is not about learning independence. We went to MOTM for 5 days when she was 16 yrs old and every year after that.......and she didn't have a kegger at the house. The other two would have needed to be bailed out of jail.Staredge wrote:Time to cut the apron strings....she's a big girl. Needs to learn some independence some time.

Or both.Staredge wrote:Ummmmm........rum????
(that and/or boobies is almost always the answer)
I don't know if ginger ale and rum would taste good. I was thinking vodka. But I really don't know; I actually don't drink a lot of hard liquior. As for boobies, well, that's a different matter, alltogether.backstreets77 wrote:Or both.Staredge wrote:Ummmmm........rum????

Its my wife's anniversary present and I am just trying to get any helpful tips possible on the area.
That's good info right there. But don't kid yourself: every road into the Lube will be bumper-to-bumper in the two hours preceding the start of the concert. The only bright spot is that a Saturday concert does not conflict with the weekday rush hour insanity that knows no par outside of Northern Virginia. Now a Thursday showCarolinadreamin' wrote:CoconutTelegraphNC wrote:This will be my first trip up to Bristow, and I managed to get a hotel room at the Best Western Battlefield Inn(4 miles from the event). Take heart.......the Hampton Inn is not in walking distance......no hotels are that close. You got a great location! The Best Western will be filled with peeps going to the show. How is getting around? It totally and completely SU**S!!!! Big time! This is a densely populated area, traffic is miserable and you are going to have a great time if you pack patience and plan ahead.![]()
1.Get to the Lube early.....meaning by noon when the lots usually open. Don't panic when I-66 looks like a parking lot. It's not the concert......that's normal insanity. We usually tailgate near a grove a trees to the right of the venue right by the porta potties. Park as close as you can and join the party.
2.Pay the $30 for parking. You'll get out in 30 mins when the show's over as opposed to 2-3 hours it will take if you don't.
3. Go to the Mac show on Friday night at the State Theater in Falls Church. http://www.thestatetheatre.com/index.xml Go early, eat dinner across the street and get in line. He usually brings several of the CRB and it's a really small place. And they'll do a meet and greet.
4. There's a loads of places to eat.....use call ahead if you can.
5. Continue to check this thread with updates. There are a great group of folks going to the show......they are only friends you haven't met yet.![]()
6. Have one for me while we're bringing the youngest back to school in Boston.
