Say a little prayer for my friends who live in Nashville. No electricity and their basement is flooding.
I must be wishing on someone else's star....

Re: Who's going to Nashville May 1, 2010?
OK we made it. We left Centreville @ 12:30 CST to make the 4 1/2 hour leisurely drive up I65 going to get there in time to do some leisurely strolling and get a bite to eat.
(Back track to 30 minutes we left)
Sitting in a chair a sudden cramp hits the left side of my spine in the neck area, its bad kind of like a dull red hot ice pick being shoved in by a crazed Chihuahua. The left arm refuses to work for a couple of minutes and I couldn't walk too good due to the fire running up and down the left side of my body. But that really didn't matter too much since all I could do was curl up in the fetal position and whimper like a small child. But in about 10 minutes after an aggressive heat and massage therapy session it started to fade....concert is still on. I loaded the wife and kid up into the silver bullet and headed out convinced that the worst was behind me. The skies were cloudy but nothing to worry about, only one trooper sighting the whole way till we got outside of Nashville in the flood zone.
OK now as I gone further the pain in my neck has gotten worse and worse. By the time we came to a 2 1/2 hour stop on the interstate I was in agony, but I had came this far and I had not been to a JB show in 9 years.
Failure was not an option.
All this was more than worth it though, I was there with my daughter for her Buffetization, saw a great show myself and to top off the evening I was both honored and privileged to meet irishcajunphan
But after the show there was no way I was going to get room in Nashville since I wasn't sure that I would be able to move at all today. So I drove back home. After eating at the river city brewery (or what ever that place was called) I managed to slip into bed @ 4:38 am. Not a bad day at all
So now I'm fixing to head to the doctor to get an X-ray. This neck still has not gotten better, I can't turn my head right or left and up and down is a range of motion of just a few degrees. I'm thinking it may be a slipped disk but I'm hoping for a pinched nerve.
Ya'll wish me luck. Even with the neck, the weather, the flooding, I would do it again in a heart beat.
I had a great time, the wife had a great time and the daughter actually stopped texting for a while because she had a great time.

Well, we made it home safely. Once we reached Lebanon it was amazingly sunny and dry all the way home. Driving out of downtown was intense. Extremely heavy rain rushing across thei roadways and gushing off of rocky hillsides like waterfalls. I'm keeping all you middle TN friends in my thoughts and prayers. I'm really glad we got out when we did. Now we're preparing for it here in Knoxville.

NOT US - with all the flooding you would have to be drunk to drive the roads around Nashville. Note that Nashville officials recommended STRONGLY that people stay off the roads.
If Jimmy had a common sense, he would provide refunds to those of us that would not risk injury (note that people lost their lives on I24 heading into Nashville last night) by driving Nashville flooded roads.
This is a public relations nightmare for Buffett and he is opening a new store there????? I know I will not visit it and I will always remember May 1, 2010 as the day I gave up on Jimmy Buffett.

I understand your frustrations but you should be upset with the people that work for him. i feel certain it wasn't jimmy's decision on whether or not to have the show.rothauserc wrote:NOT US - with all the flooding you would have to be drunk to drive the roads around Nashville. Hi Team Nashville-made it home, had a great time and, wow, that was some wicked weather.
Citact, nice to meet you!
Wanted those who were at Rippey's pre-party, my husband won one of the baskets prepared by MC Phins!!
Take care all, be safe and hang in there-better weather is coming.

Here are some of the photos I took in Nashville May 1 in Nashville.
Some concert photos as well as the pre-concert event and other pics.

Hope this works.
We made it out of Nashville after the show and back to Crossville by 1 AM with rain but no real trouble on the road.

Just heard that the Army Corps of Engineers are going to release some flood gates to ease the pressure at the dams, but will raise the water level in the city.

I'm on curfew until 6 a.m. tomorrow morning.
Franklin is the first city to issue a curfew for its residents.
It's running from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and requires residents to stay home.
